Wear contacts?
Grab your glasses and ditch your contacts until you feel better. Optometrists from the University of Alabama at Birmingham have pointed out that wearing contacts when you are sick can lead to serious eye infections. Why? When you are battling a virus, "tear production is altered and eyes tend to get very dry," says William Benjamin Ph. D., a professor of optometry at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

I rarly wear my contact anymore. I moved to a place where the air is so dry that when I wear my contacts, I constantly have to put in eye drops. But this is some interesting information.

Interesting. I wear mine every day but take them out before bed.
I've never had an eye infection in the 20 or so years I've been wearing them (no, not the same pair).
:)
That could be because I rarely get sick.

Never knew this, but I do take them out when I'm sick. My eyes tend to get dry and the contacts are uncomfortable then.
