Do you like to respond new mylotters?

I really do like to respond to the people that are really new to mylot because I know what it is like to not know that much about this website and have alot of questions that you would like to have answered...because i have only been here for about a month now and i still don't understand everything about it...and i think that it is great to be able to help the newbies out to be able to learn things about htis website...

I just answer posts that catch my attention. I never even look to see if someone is new or not, I dont check profiles or look to see how many posts a person has.

If a discussion interests me, it doesn't matter if the mylotter is old or new, I will respond.

However, I am relatively new to myLot too, and I can understand and comprehend exactly what you are saying. I think you have a very valid opinion here.

I respond to any discussion I think I can whether they are new or not, I have put some discussions up that have had quite a few responces and then some that either dont get any or just one or two, but I always just figure that its because no one found them interesting!

I partially agree . Some of the new comers do not get high number of responses here as it takes some time to get used to this community and have an idea how things work here.Once they are in full flow, there is no such thing is new and old mylotter:)

I have not been on MyLot for long but I have responded to many new user discussions and will continue to do so. In the sidebar of this webpage you should see under 'discussions' there is a link for 'new user discussions'.

Unfortunately so many newcomers have obviously not read the MyLot guidelines before posting a discussion. There is usually a good reason why they are not getting responses.

Yes, at first there's few popularity problem. Since many of the mylot members doesn't recognises you you won't be having many responses. But apart from that popularity is not only the problem in my point of view. Don't take me wrong but I think that many of the new mylot members are incabale of starting some kind of quality discussions.
I myself had these kind of problems. But after spending some time here then I knew the type of discussions that would attract people. So, I think it's definitely needs some hard work to get good responses.

I will answer pretty much any post that catches my attention. It really does not matter all that much to me if the person is new or they have been here for quite some time. I have been on this site for a few months, and have made some great friends some older members, as well as some of the newbies. Welcome to mylot

I haven't noticed that! You are very new. You just might need to get your feet wet here a little bit more. But, I felt welcome. It might have taken me a little bit of time before people noticed some of my discussions. And, there are still some that don't garner much interest. But, I just figure that no one has anything to say about it. Don't feel bad. I don't think anyone is ignoring you. Just keep plugging away at it!

Welcome from one fairly new Mylotter to another!

Hello tk4159, I was new to mylot 3 weeks ago, and i got a very good responce to everything i posted. Its not a matter of 'old mylotters' dislike new ones. It is just that 'old mylotters' (And the same with everyone really) seem to reply to posts which have a meaning to them, or really catch their eye, instead of ones like "tonight for tea i am having pizza, what are you having..." or something like that. Also, if you use mylot frequently, you will have 150 + posts in no time, i think i have 120 something posts in 3 weeks. then you will see that nothing changes. think of a really interesting discussion which you can start, which will get more than 10 replies, normally ones which everyone will have a different opinion on, and then you will see that everyone replies bacause their opinion is different and it catches their eye=]
