Have you ever seen a hairstyle on a person on a tv show and thought it looked adorable and then when you tried it on yourself, it just looked really stupid? Why doesn't it look as good on me as the character? Case in point, Lulu on General Hospital had her hair partially pulled back and the sides loose. It looked so cute! I tried to do that today to wear to work. It just looked stupid on me.

I wasn't really speaking of the cut. More how they are styling and accessorizing their hair. There is a girl on a show I watch whose hair is longer than mine. She pulls it up in really cute ways with twists and clips. My hair just doesn't look as cute when I try to twist and clip my hair up the same way.

I never have hairstyle that looks stupid for me. If i'm going to have such hairstyle, really copied from any selebrity, i will bring the picture and show it to the professional hairdresser. It costs more expensive but you will happy with it. But before i pick the pic, i will make sure that the selebrity's face shape also the same like mine. Is it oval or not? Because some hairstyle are just fit for particular face shape...

I know exactly what you mean, so many of those actresses have the neatest hairstyles, and then when you try and duplicate it it just doesn't look right. Not sure, but I think it has more to do with face shape than anything. Maybe too it's partially the make-up because certain features are enhanced and accentuated (like eyes or lips.) They sure do have some cute styles though, wish I could wear some of them without looking silly.

maybe its because this tv personalities or actors has their own hair dresser who are professionals thats why we cant get really close on having those kinds of hair styles. this happened to me once during the early 90s. i want to look like pat benetar so i go to a parlor and told them i want that style. i even showed them a picture of pat benetar. i went out of the salon looking kinda okay, but maintaning the hairstyle was a different problem.

Lets keep in mind that no haircut is ever gone to be 100% like that one that we really wanted. You need to factor in many components such as hair type - fine thin hair, fine thick hair, Curly, straight, oily, dry. There is also your facial structure. which is a big deal. Some hairstyles will not look right no matter what you do with it if your facial features are not right for the cut. A good stylist should be able to help you choose the best cut for your facial features.

Yes! I always wanted the hairstyle that Drew Barrymore has in the Wedding Singer, but it just didn't work for me, didn't have that 'flick'
