I use to love ebay and I bought everything there. Now the fees are just getting out of hand. I don't feel I should continue to pay for what does not sell. So I am fixing up my website to make my own money. I plan to use them to list 4 bags total at a time. I will list them cheap and shipping high. I will then send my customers flyer to shop o my site. I sold a listing started at .99 and shipping 20.00 yesterday. The listing was for 4 bags. They are the smaller one I would have given for free. :)

I know that the UK ones just changed their fees so you might wanna check them out. The stuff I list today was cheap cheap cheap/

Oh well my pals had rust and a leaky sun roof but 50 quid is 50 quid and it done him alright.

What on earth is a Bradfords Exchange plate.

Bradfords here is a bakery

Plates from the Bradford Exchange are collectible plates with various paintings and designs on them. Plates that are meant purely for decoration, not to be eaten from. lol. My one and only set is a Wizard of Oz 8 plate set... each plate having a small music box attached, that plays a song from the movie.

Ebay suits me cos I am normally using my paypal so fair enough.

I know that the Uk side of the site reviewed their fees the otherday and they are much cheaper now so you might wanna check them out.

I think the insertion fee is down to 10pence

I will check to see if I can use the U.K. side of ebay while in the US

Och I know that you can but obviously you will have to post to the UK and that would mean that you are less likely to get people bidding cos of high postage costs.

I can go on and look at US stuff and sometimes I do if something hasn't been released here in the UK yet.

Surely though the .com version of the site has put down their fees too.

just2 how did Ebay lose your business, what was there response? How many reps did you discuss this with? would love to hear more about it. I have thought about persuing Ebay full time but before I jump in I would love to hear some of the MAJOR cons. Especially from someone that has lived through it step by step.

Well, let's see. I was selling on there really good. I started last year about this time of year. Prom dresses are good right now. And pageant dresses. Anyway, that is what I started with. Then I moved on to dropshipping. I still have my dropship account. They suspended me for selling Nike shoes. Said I did not have Nike's permission to sell them. Well, they told me to email Nike so I did. Nike said that they could not help with ebay. So I am back at square one. Now, the real jacked up part of ebay is that they don't want to talk to you on the phone. They don't publish their phone number on ebay itself Google is a great thing. I got their number. I actually had more than one number. I called and called. One day I was on hold for almost an hour and they just disconnected me. The automated system just sends you around in a circle. When you do talk to customer service, they are rude.

I did talk to a couple of people who were helpful on the ebay store support line. They were the only ones who were ever helpful. You email ebay and don't get a response. Or you do finally get a response after you have forgotten you emailed them in the first place. I faxed them stuff. I got reinstated just to get suspended again. They say that I am suspended for at least 12 months.

I was making them a ton of money. I think my last month selling, I had $1000 in ebay fees. That's a lot of selling. But they have raised their final value fee to 8.25%. They are just going to keep raising the fees too. They are getting away with it. That is the problem. They are too big for their britches.

Wow that does not sound good. I was actually reading something the other day on the internet similar to this about not being able to contact them by phone cos they weren't publishing their number but I do know that now on the UK version of the site they have and I do know the UK version has brought down their prices but thats all I can say.
I don't use eBay to make serious money. I just use it when I have something I don't want.

Well, don't ever turn pro. That's when they start screwing you. I always did fine when I only sold occassionally too.

I wouldn't even call what I make income. I have just sold a few things that I have chanced upon or do it as favours for friends.

I always do like the idea of making money through it regulary.
