A Prince at war

For the past few days the media here in the UK has been filled with stories about Prince Harry serving on the front line in Afghanistan. Because of it being brought into the media he has been brought home, but he has made it quite clear that he did not want to come. His father Prince Charles met him upon his return and said he was very proud of him. I think he should be. The boy has done more than he ever did by serving on the front line in a war. I am sure the one that would have been the most proud of him would have been his Mother if she were still alive. Since his return he has been promoted with an estimated pay-raise of £11 a week. Nothing when one looks at what he is worth. I think the media should have kept quiet about it and let the boy serve as long as he wanted - or at least have let him finish out his assignment. Well done Prince Harry - you have made us all proud on your service to your country.

I am proud of Prince Harry going into a warzone, just as i am proud of any other British soldier fighting for the country. It is something he wanted to do and in the future I hope he can fight again. I would say though that Prince Charles wanted to fight for Britain, as heir to the throne though he wasn't allowed. Instead his brother, Prince Andrew, flew helicopters during the Falklands. So it is a mirror image of William and Harry, as of now William isn't allowed to fight as he heir apparent.
