What meds are you taking? It seems like more and more people are taking something these days. Is it the stresses of every day living? I am not on any meds, thank goodness, since they are so expensive if you don't have insurance. But in my family, I think I am the only one who isn't taking something. Why are people getting sick more these days than before? Or is it just that I am now noticing it and it has been prevaliant for years? Or is it because I am getting older and so, so are my family and friends and as we get older we need more. What is your opinion on this medication thing?

I think that people just look for a pill to cure everything these days. I'm not currently on any meds at all thanks to.....myself. The doctors had me on so many meds that I hardly even could function at one point in my life. I have vowed that no matter how bad things get, I will never take meds to make them better again. I take tons of vitamins and herbs. I do have insurance and I wish insurance companies would cover vitamins. There are a lot of vitamins and herbs out there that will cure some illnesses better than prescriptions will.

I have to take thyroxine, because I have an under active thyroid, so it has to be regularly monitored to make sure the levels are correct, I take 200mg a day every morning and will have to for the rest of my life. I have also succumbed and started taking antidepressants, but a low dosage, I am keeping a close eye on them to see if they make any difference, but will have to give them about a month. I also take codliver oil because I do a lot of walking, and it helps my joints.
