Spring Flower Shows

I know that with the weather being as it is in many places it's hard to believe that spring is just around the corner, but it is. Many cities stage an annual flower show each year, and I was wondering if any of our fellow myLotters are flower enthusiasts. I really love flowers and wish it were possible to keep fresh ones in my home all the time. They do so much to enhance a room with their bright colors and sweet fragrances. So, do you attend flower shows or keep fresh flowers in your home when they are available? We did when I lived in the country, and I miss them very much.

I also love daffodils, weemam! They remind me of our front yard when I was growing up.

Wichita is having a Lawn, Home, and Garden show. I would love to attend, but hubby is working and I am too on some of the days. We would have to drive an hour to get there, and there just is not time after work. I am disappointed, as I always enjoy them. Perhaps a closer city will have one in a week or so.

I understand how it can be, GG, when there are so many demands upon your time. I hope you will get another chance to visit a nearby flower show.

I don't keep fresh flowers because I am allergic, but I have been to many botanical gardens during the spring and was able to enjoy the variety of blooming flowers there (of course I took my allergy meds before hand).

What a shame, Aurone, to be allergic to things that have so much beauty.

Yes, I agree with that flowers do enhance a room especially so with fresh flowers. We dont have flower shows here, unfortunately. I dont keep fresh flowers at home, though I love to. This is largely due to the price of fresh flowers cutting here is quite expensive and with the weather we have, it just wilted away very fast. It is not economical.

I agree, ellie, that fresh cut flowers are very expensive! It would be so nice if you could grow your own.

Flowers do have a language all their own, carmelanirel, and the world would be a much duller place without them.
