Well there are hust so many uses for so many herbs. Basil is a herbal carminative - it can relieve gas and soothe stomach upset, Cayenne pepper contains alkaloid capsaicin which relieves pain by blocking pain message signals to the brain. This is also good for any lumg problems and helps perk up appetite, improves digestion and helps with nausea. Ginger helps with motion sickness. There are just so many. Garlic, Dill, clove, thyme, parsley are all excellent herbs to use. I would suggest seeing if you can get a book to discover numerous other ones and how to use them and there remedies. Ellie :D

I don't know if ginger root is herb... it's more of spice for me. Anyway, when I have bad cough/cold or stomach pain. I will pound ginger and boil it. Put the boiled ginger water in a mug and squeez a lemon and put a spoonfull of honey. It's delicious and soothing to the throat. And helps my digestion too. And would you believe... I even lose a few pounds because it's a good diuretic? Try it.

I was fighting flu last week, so I took a Zinc lozenge twice a day, and dissolved vit. c powder in a little water (1000mg), and have that a couple times a day. I also gargeled with a few drops of tea tree oil in warm water for my sore throat (don't swallow that), and I also gargeled with Golden Seal tincture, maybe an eyedropper full in some warm water, gargle with that, and you can swallow. Golden Seal is a natural antibiotic. Tea Tree Oil is wonderful. It numbs pain as well as heals..it's an antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungus oil. Of course one must always practice preventative measures. Exercise, eat well, keep your stress down...you may get sick some, but not as much, and not as severely. Oh, and wash your hands. And don't go nuts with all this "antibacterial" products. It's ok to be exposed to some bacterias, it actually makes our immune system stronger. Stay well!

Hello marketing friend. I usually take capsules for cold. When I get sick, my symptom is headache. So I need to take one or two capsules to get rid of it. Yeah, some people do not like to take any medicine. They love to let it get cured naturally, but I cannot suffer my headache when it comes because it will only make me worse without taking the headache-killing capsules. I seldom take Chinese herb as it tastes bitter. Thanks.

There are many herbs that are good for your health it depends on what you particulaly want to work on. Get a book on medicinal herbs and you will find lots of information in there. They could probalby help you at Whole Foods too.

Health food stores have a number of natural homeopathic herbs for health. One thing the health food stores sells is something called 'kombucha', which contains probiotics and B vitamins for energy. I discovered kombucha about a year ago. Now I make my own kombucha. Do some research on it and see what you come up with.
