what makes you go shopping for books,its previews or reviews

Never take any notice of reviews - normally I just buy books from authors I like. Or else those recommended as being from an author who writes in the same style as one of my favourites

Both! If a book has a good review, and it sounds like something I might like, I'll buy it. But most of my finds have just been from browsing at the bookstore, and picking up a book I liked the look of.

I look for books which I think I will enjoy because they are by an author I like or because the story looks interesting. I think reading preference is a very personal choice. Just because a reviewer likes or dislikes a book does not mean I will share the same experience. I know what kind of books I don't like so however good the review is I know I will not buy it.

I rely on reviews. These days you can find many reviews not only in newspapers or magazines, but also on the Internet. You can read reviews on Amamzon.com. I'm very selective when it comes to buying books. I look at the category, the author, the subject etc. I don't like buying too many books on the same subject written by different authors. Once I have a favorite author I try to stick to the author. I like reviews which give a good insight into the book not 'I like it' or 'I don't like it' kinda reviews.

I usually buy books which are recommended by friends. Sometimes if there are several good reviews about the book and if it's written by one of my favorite authors.

most of the time the illustration on the front cover attracts me, and then only i'll read the summary at the back of the book. if it's as interesting as the cover then that's it- i'm definitely buying! haha.

What makes me shop for book is usually if it is something i can learn or benefit from. I like to hear stories about someones life, but right now I'm reading books that are going to take me some where in life. So really that is actully my focus. Books are cool, but many people do not like to read. I think reading is good for the soul.
