At dinner yesterday my son and soon to be daughter in law asking me what I'm going to do with my life now that my Mom is gone. Not that I did anything with it when she was here except spend time with her and be on call 24/7 for her. Then first thing this morning my daughter called me and the first thing she said was "Mom, what are you going to do with your life?"....It's bad enough that I get the same thing from my therapist, psychiatrist and mental health worker...I don't want to hear it from my family too!! They all say the same things...I look great for 60, don't look my age, am intelligent...yada yada yada. I don't know what to do with my life. I don't date because I've been let down to many times. I got fired from my little job a week after my Mom died because I was too depressed to go in. I have a cat who doesn't like me...lol!!! I've become content babysitting on the weekend and spending my time on my pc or on the couch watching tv. I belong to a volunteer organization that I can't get myself to participate in, I have no friends since 2 years ago I was in a 5 year relationship that didn't work out and my friends either moved out of state or got married! If I'm content sitting in my apartment why do I have to do anything with my life and why does it bother everyone so much?

well just start by making small changes, please don't do anything major in a hurry...try getting out a little each day and mark that as a victory in your life...as you get stronger, start to do more! best of luck! (if you need an ear, i am here!)

let me just tell you, you have a life to live. You now have nothing to tie you down. No children to raise, no parents to care for. You have probably lived most your life for others, now it is time to live for yourself, go out and find yourself, find who you are and what interests you. Experience things, dream, set goals, accomplish. If you want to stay at home, that is your choice, if that is what makes you happy, so be it! don't let others tell you how to live YOUR life.
