I was just helping my daughter to look for something for a project and ended up finding that not only frank gehry was an architect but also the designer of cardboard furniture in the 70s.
Quite an interesting idea that could revolution the furniture industry - I guess that's why it didn't get popular hehehehe -. What cheap prices? No, way LOL
I don't know about durability but I can see it as an alternative in dorms and stuff.
SO, have you ever heard of cardboard furniture? How does the idea look like to you?

Now that's one I've never heard of before. But I imagine duribility for this type of furniture comes with more than just cardboard. I'm sure the cardboard is hardened in such a way that it can be used as furniture. This is quite an interesting topic. I hope many more respond to this. Now I'm curious about cardboard furniture.

Yes, from what I understood he used several layers of corrugated cardboard, glued and pressed together. I think that it could be durable.
It didn't gain much popularity though, and I'm betting that the reason was the opposition from major furniture companies :)
