Who here plays handball, and if you haven't, have you heard of it?

I personally play, but haven't in quite sometime as there is no handball courts in the area that I currently live in. I used to play when I lived in NY, as there are handball courts everywhere. My boyfriend got me into the game, and he loves it himself. I feel awful that there aren't any courts around here, because it was the only thing that he really ever got excited about when going outside to do things. How bout you, have you ever played before?

I haven't played handball but I have seen it played in movies.

I play music so I don't think I would play but I would watch a few games.

It's actually quite fun and great for excersize. It just takes a lot out of you, and your hands can hurt afterward. In one summer I think I spent just as much of my time on a handball court as I did working, and I had a full-time job.

No, the game is more like raquetball, except you hit the ball with your hand instead of a racket.

It seems I have been playing a different game then 
We played at a court but, the goal was like that of soccer goals. We dribbled and passed the ball. And threw it at the goal where there is an opposing goalie that tries to block our every attempt to make a point.
I really don't know the other game you mentioned, sorry..

I haven't played on a professional level, I used to play back in school, where we were playing outside, on hard ground. I like the sport, if I'll have the opportunity to play it again, I surely will.
I like to watch handball on TV, especially the high stake games that Romanian club and national teams play. The Romanian handball teams brought us many moments of joy, by winning European trophies and World Cup medals (the girls came second in Russia a few years ago).
We are very optimistic and we hope the girls will bring back medals from The Olympic Games.

I don't play handball and my first exposure to it was the Beijing Olympics. I've been watching it, happy to discover another unique sport that isn't very popular in the US. It's really difficult.

I have played with friends at basketball courts. Pretty sure we haven't played by the official rules though. Its really fun, and I would love to play in a league, except that my town doesn't have any courts or leagues. That sucks that you can't play anymore-try playing on basketball courts or driveways- thats where I usually play.

I used to play handball a little while back when I was still in high school. Handball is great fun. Alas, I no longer have the time I once did to devote to sports.
