In the long run, do you think the comments of Obama's Pastor, Jeremiah Wright will affect the outcome of his campaign or do you think it will slowly fade away and not affect it at all? Thanks for reading and responding. Have a great Saturday.

I think it will affect his campaign starting immediately. And with affecting it starting immediately, he wont get as many votes to run. I think that he is pretty much SOL on this campaign.. its one thing after another. I'm not for or against him..

I voted for him in our primary and have been supporting him, but this really does concern me and make me wonder. I am going to do more reading, research, and thinking on the matter. If he also feels the way his pastor does, it could cause some very serious problems for America.

I sure HOPE it does. The kind of hatred that he has been spewing from his pulpit for 20 HAS to have had an impact on Obama. Even though he says he doesn't agree with it. He subjected himself to it for 20 years. He had Rev. Wright as a personal advisor and has links to the Black Panthers on his official website. This type of hate speech does not further equality and justice. It fans the flames of hatred and prejudice, all the things we have been trying to get past for 40 years.

Unfortunately you are right. I actually believe that his vision - at least the one he talks about in the campaign speaches - is a good way for America to go, but now I have to wonder if he is just saying what he has to to get elected. I will definitely have to do some more research and thinking before I can whole heartedly support him at this point.

I really don't see how this will be something that will fade away or be forgotten. Hate and dislike of America and Americans is not something that we need as the president of our country! And you have to remember that this is following Obama's wife making statements that she has never been proud of America or Americans in a previous appearance. It definitely does not look or sound good. It is also reason to have serious doubts about Obama's true beliefs and feelings. It is possible that he has simply been putting on a good show, and telling the voters what they want to hear. This is definitely something worth remembering and researching before voting him into office - rather than being sorry later.

I sure hope it does. a poll on greta van sustren's website had a percentage of 84% saying it will!! that is a pretty high percentage. I do not support Obama so I hope this really gets people to rethink their vote.

I have been supporting him, and I must admit that this does worry me. I am going to have to do some thinking on the matter. At the same time, though I really don't think that I can support either Hillary or McCain, so I am not sure where that leaves me.

I'm pretty sure it will affect the outcome, but not very much. Many of Obama's supporters are likely sticking with him since he denounced the reverend's statements. If saying something racist or otherwise objectionable automatically ruins a person's chances, then Hillary Clinton should not have a chance either. Back in 2004, she made a joke about Mahatma Gandhi running a gas station in St. Louis. This was spoken by Hillary herself, not a pastor or other longtime friend of hers.

While I have been supporting Obama - I have to admit that I have serious concerns since this information has hit the news. After all it has not been all that long ago that his wife, Michelle, made the comments that she has never been proud of America or of being American. This makes me wonder what HIS true feelings about America and Americans are. I actually think this will cause some serious damage to his campaing. Simply denouncing the pastor's remarks could just be saying and doing what the voter's expect to stay in the race and get the votes.
