routers and adapters  

In my opinion the best router wireless is ASUS WL-500G-Premium

I have been using Linksys WRT54G for quite some time now and it works just fine, its sort of setup and forget about it, the range is fine too. I've also tried cheap USB routers and wireless LAN adapters and their OK. what i'm trying to say is, you have a wide range of hardware from cheap to overly expensive, just make sure that you configured it correctly =)

Hi, since I work for Linksys, you can try Linksys devices. With the modem, it depends on your ISP, just make sure that the modem is working for couple of weeks so that you would know that the Internet is stable before you hook up the router and other devices there.

WRT54G is the best.

I have linksys and it has done me great. I had bought a linksys modem to but our internet provider have us one so we took it. I have not had any trouble with mine (linksys) then if u did have trouble they have an 800# to call. they help too.

go get a llinksys for routers but try other brands for adapters

There are several brands in this market.

The most known are, most of the times, little brands from major companies.
For instance, LINSYS is a Cisco Companie, Netgear is Nortel for domestic use.

Linksys is a good choice, altough, I would keep with the "Blue" models, the new ones lack stability and are sometimes slower.

I think the best router would be D-Link since it's easy to configure and set up. However, I would prefer wireless modem over router since they are more stable and able to use in a wider range.
