ahh today marks another passing of the season.. into Spring we go. the world is starting to have that scent to it. ya know that earthy fresh clean tinges of blossoms on the verge of bursting forth scent.. i love the `tween seasons. the air shifts, the world spins a bit, and everythings new. Spring Equinox has always been the day id get myself into the ocean. living in new england, that sometimes entailed walking through the snow to get to the water. what a rush im tellin ya! if i was lucky it was a warm-ish day, sometimes i wasnt that fortunate, but it didnt really matter. the roar of the surf, gulls screaching, and that.. scent. id plunge in clothes and all and wash away the wintery blahs. not living where my backyard is the sea anymore, im finding it hard to find another ritualistic wintery blah cleansing routine, and i so need it this year. the only water nearby is still frozen for the most part, and the pond in my yard from the rain really doesnt count. so i reach out to all you earthy types and closetted tree-huggers. how do YOU get rid of the Death Seasons grip and welcome in the freshness of Spring? Happy Ostara to all!

I'm ready for the warmer weather, just not some of things that come with it, such as severe weather, and having to mow my yard. Today though was beautiful. It was a bit windy, but very comfortable in the mid seventies with plenty of sunshine. I've noticed some things "springing" to life, like I'm seeing grass (well mostly weeds) growing, things starting to green up and the frist wave of ants have started exploring my home. (They come during spring of each year, hang around for a couple weeks and then leave. I leave them alone, and they leave me alone. It's a good relationship really.) Enough with the cold weather already, I'm tired of it. Bring on the Sun.

Thanks for the tip with the ants, but they are one of the few insects that I don't mind. We have a good relationship, really. The hardest part is trying not to kill them by accident.

sounds nice =o) im under water here with alla the rain, but least it isnt snow right? ive got daffs starting to poke up, crocus in bloom.. but i need the sun. lil trick with the ants? might sound weird, but my mother in law used to do it and swore by it. remember the old powdered soap called borax? put a ring of it around yer foundation. the ants (and other pests) wont cross the line. happy spring =o)

Happy Spring, dear tessah. It is really very nice to have spring come back to us as we can enjoy the warm weather again after the long and cold winter. I wish you to enjoy every moment of the spring time with your family and friends. We have had spring for almost two months since the 4th of February. Now many of the trees are growing new and tender green leaves, which makes the surroundings so nice and beautiful everywhere...Thanks very much for responding to my discussion, my dear friend.

Spring you say? I was just told we are expecting 4-6 inches of snow tonight after 2 weeks of mild weather (in the 40s). The kids were out in just sweatshirts this afternoon (enjoying the early dismissal from school). My son learned to ride a 2 wheeler (well, almost--we still have to work on stopping). Since we came in at 4:30 the temp has dropped about 15 degrees. Yuck. And we're supposed to be driving to Iowa on Saturday to have lunch with my inlaws (they live in Missouri so we meet half way in the town my fil grew up in). We were hoping to visit the cemetery and the park so the kids could run around with their cousins but now it will probably be freezing and covered in snow. Figures.

Spring has sprung! - spring signs
I couldn't be happier that Spring is finally here. Hopefully we have seen the last of the snow right? I don't mind the rain because as they say "April showers bring May flowers". I'll be getting rid of that winter grip by throwing myself into very much needed spring cleaning.

i enjoy all the seasons, even living in Southern California... Spring as that rebirth feeling, freshness, sunny breeze, occasional showers to assist beautiful, multicolored and multi-scented flowers to bloom, bright happy sunshine, birds chirping cheery songs, bees buzzing and pollinating flowers, enjoy life and nature as you stroll long romantic walks. Summer brings the heat, bright sun rays, nice tans, enjoying swimming or wading in cool waters, splashing, laughing and socializing with a tall glass of thirst-quenching lemonade or ice tea filled with ice, or maybe enjoying a snow cone or homemade ice cream on a smoldering day of summer. Autumn brings another season of fresh new start for that is when most people start school. The weather is now cooling down from the summer heat and feel crispy, clean and a little nippy. sweaters are out of the trunks with maybe a knit hat and scarf as you enjoy a walk filled with multicolored leaves hanging on trees, while some are dried and crispy crunching below your feet like potato chips. Winter gets colder, bright lights make a city glow a seasonal or christmasy look, emitting romance. the snow is pretty to look at, and even if there is no snow, the cold chill in the air makes people create a warm and loving environment inside their homes, with fireplace blazing a bright and wild orange color, holiday decoration, pets cuddled near the fireplace on a warm knit blanket, loved ones cuddled close together on the couch with a knit blanket, enjoying the warmth and love while sipping hot chocolate or any warm beverage and roasting chestnuts in the fireplace or eating homemade cookies.

;wrinkles nose; dont like winter. its fine in the "tween" winter - fall , the air gets a little chilly, you can smell the snow in the air.. the first snowfall is all pretty and sparklie, and thats all wonderful. after that its just a neverending constant snowsnowcoldfreezingcoughcoldflusneezingmoresleethail grey days and after months of it, ive had enough to wanna scream. im an outdoorsey sort, and love to play in the dirt, being cooped up inside, or having to put on layers upon layers of clothing irritates me. im suffering cabin fever i think.. my father in law used to say we had two seasons here.. winter and the fourth of july. this year is perfect example lol
