British English are more detailed form of the English language as compared to American English... They are using much of the adjectives and adverbs on their communications either spoken or written. Most probably you will fall in love with their languange (British) more especially if love reading literatures... American English when giving some affirmative responses commonly says: "I agree, or Yes I do" whereas the British will have: "...I certainly do, or You have my approval respectfully or Your ideas profoundly adheres withmine". As if the American English is always on the GO whereas the British are well versed on elaborating their point at any instance, which is so pleasing to the ear and is therefore more convincing to believe with. Nevertheless, both has each advantages with the other.

I think the biggest differences between the British and the American is that the American version also incorporates a lot of foreign words. I didn't know till I went to Germany that "Kindergarten" was not American english. It is German.
Also, the British don't have trucks; They have Lorries, and instead of elevators, they have lifts, and tin openers instead of can openers. I was constantly being corrected by a Scottish friend of mine in Germany. And he always refered to Americans as "Colonials." I'll keep to myself what I called him.

Not a great deal as long as you can understand regional accents than you can understand each other.
There are minor differences in spelling of certain words
color (US) vs colour (Eng)
civilization vs civilisation
honor vs honour
and a bit of pronounciation as well

There is a lot of differences in the language of an area with another area speaking the same language. There differences sum up and result in the formation of another dialect of the language. So there are a lot of differences between the languages
