What Do You Do When You Cannot Fall Asleep?  |

| Hello, my dear friends. It is now 4:21 in the morning, but I am still unable to fall asleep. I think that it is because of my long afternoon nap from two till six. I went to bed at around one in the morning, but I could not fall asleep and then I got up to mylot for a little while. I am afraid that I will be exhausted tomorrow morning because of not having enough time to sleep during the night. I think that I will have to lie in bed again to try my luck. I have been disturbed with many things lately and keep thinking of this person, well I just try to close my eyes and try to sleep and then without my knowing I was able to fight and and got my needed sleep. Yeah, sleepless nights make us unable to enjoy our sleep and make us lose weight in a negative way, which is not what we expect. I will try to go to bed with all of those wonderful things in the mind, feeling so good to fall asleep till hours later. What is lucky for me is that I do not have to go to work. | | One thing I do is read, it usually makes me drowsy if I read by only a small electric candle's light, which isn't very much at all. If you really aren't sleepy and are just laying there it's best to get up, turn on lights and do something for a bit and then go to bed again, that way you don't develop a mental block that lasts for days of insomnia. Chamomile tea is also a great option before bed if you need some help relaxing, it's very soothing. I'd say you would be better off trying to avoid future naps like that, I've read it's recommended not to nap for more than 20-30 minutes because after that you enter a deeper sleep which is what leads to not being able to fall asleep at night. 20-30 minutes is usually enough to refresh you for a few hours though. | | | | | | |

Almost, since my memory, I have not changed my routine, my body has become like a machine, here is my routine : a--getting up at 0400 hrs b-after completing morning work, get in touch with internet (mails/writing etc)--upto 0700 hrs. c- take a cup of tea and go for 3-4 km walk, return by 8 AM d- News papers/TV news, gardening upto 0900 hrs. e- bath /Puja/B'fast upto 1000 hrs. f-house-hold work/computer/cooking (it is my hobby)-1300hrs g-TV watching/Lunch-uptp 1400hrs d-Afternoon nap upto 1500 hrs f- Computer writing/chatting with family members-upto 1700 g-Tea at 1700 hrs-go far evening walk with grand-children h- Retuen at 1900-take some soup J- Dinner at 2100 hrs K-Retire to bed by 22 hrs-and sleep will come by 2230 hrs. Remember- wash your feet, relax and lie down keeping your head clear from all worries, prey Almighty, and think what time 'I have to get up. It is very, very rare, when I do not get sleep. I sleep fast and dead, but my sleep is like Dog, if my wife turns on any side, I can make out. Be determined. I am a retiree and not responsible to any one.
