A conservative councillor in England was forced to appologise for saying that he believed those who have children without working should be sterillised, wasnt this kind of thinking made unfashionable by the nazis and shouldnt it warn us about just how dangerous the Conservatives are?

The first discussion I answered here was one that posed the idea to sterilize stupid people and I responded with a comment about nazis. If this is the kind of thinking being done by your conservatives, then you should indeed be very afraid. I just don't get it. Why didn't they learn from the nazis? How can they be so obtuse as to get this idea in the first place? What's wrong with people?!!?

The guy was sacked from his council today, but I get the distinct impression that he was only voicing what many Conservatives secretly think. This is where the danger lies, because if they ever get near power, (may the godess forbid) such ideas will no longer be muttered in private but will form the driving ideaology behind social policy. Why they still think this way? I guess those of us who know our history, those of us who maintain our humanity and those of us who maintain the ability of rational thought, have difficulty in determining the processes of degredation that such people must go through in order to sink so low. In Germany, it was a result of good people doing nothing, shall we make the same mistake? I sincerely hope not
thank you for joining the discussion

was this the same tory who ridiculed the labour party for taking school children to learn of the horrors of the concentration camps?
i believe it was discribed as a cheap publicity gimmick by the conservative party!

hahaha yes the very same. However, the conservative, shaddow hiders will happily silently mutter how they agree, albeit secretly, with what has been said, I find that incredibly scary

I can understand his point, but of course this is not something that any goverment would ever approve. Not to mention that you can't really do that to people.

This kind of behavior and ideology is not uncommon. Many people feel like if you need help, you can't parent. This is not true, real parenting has so little to do with money. It's more about being there with your kid.
