Have you ever been all alone in your apartment or house at night and suddenly you keep hearing odd irritating little noises so you go room to room to be sure all is well and then you chide yourself for being paranoid as thefront door is still locked? i had a similar experience the other night.I was alone andit was late and I kept hearing these snuffling, gritty, odd littlenoises like someone dragging something. I did a thorough search and of course noone was there and the frontdoor was locked. Iheard it again outside so I unlocked the front door and there was the fattest possum I have ever seen with a half eaten chicken leg dangling from his mouth. He had ripped open my large plastic garbage bag and pulled out the first meat scrap he could find. He gave me a glare then slowly ambled across the patio, slid under the fence and was gone. we live on the edge of tustin and wild creatures do come down from the hills late at night.ordinarily we do not leave our plastic garbage sacks out on the patio at night but we have a big problem with enough space in the dumpsters we have here for one hundred twenty families and have been forced lately to store our plastic sacks outside until we could find space in the dumpsters we have only five for the entire large complex.

We have been having loads of these just lately in our house, we have not had any for a while. The other night me and hubby were in bed when we heard shuffling footsteps in the hallway outside, thinking it was one of our sons who shuffles when he walks my hubby went to check, no one there and all kids fast asleep. Last night we were again in bed when from the other side of the room we distinctly heard a voice say ohhhh, we again thought that perhaps one of our kids was hiding, playing a prank, so we checked, well hubby did, nothing! very strange indeed. I would have loved to have seen that possum!!

He at least I think it was a he stood his ground and made a sort of growling sound and just stared at me for a moment as if to say do not even think about it then he squeezed under the cedar fenceing and was gone with his chicken leg.

That's so scary but what's a possum? There's a lot of ghost stories but to tell you the truth, I have yet to see a real appearance of a ghost but I hope that I would never see one coz it's just too scary for me to handle lol

a possum is a wild creature a little bit bigger than a large domestic cat and it scavanges for food from the dumpsters and any garbage bag left unattended. this was no ghost story but a real live animal come down from the Tustin hills.
