I don't know, but lately I've becoming more and more anti-remakes.

I've noticed for every good remake there is nearly a dozen horrible ones out there. What happened to originality? You can't tell me there aren't any more ideas out there. That's a crock! I'm getting tired of seeing some of my favorite older movies being butchered in a remake just to make it "modern". Most of the time the directors completely miss the mark or whole idea of the movie.

I read an opinion somewhere that said, Why remake the good movies? Instead, why not remake the one's that could have or should have been good, but just didn't quite work? Now, admittedly the good movies are picked because it's thought that there's a better chance of success, but a huge amount of films these days seem to be remakes, adaptations of tv programs, sequels, or a combination of these.

It doesn't bother me for the most part. Some re-makes I have liked and some I don't. However many, many movies are re-makes of some sort. Either they were re-made from older movies or from plays or books. Very few have been original in the last half of a century. Oh they might change minor things but many if you look have very similar story lines or are direct copies from earlier versions. Just the way it is. For example all romance stories have: boy and girl meet, boy and girl break up, and then boy and girl get back together. The background might change but the basic story is still the same. This can be said about any genre: westerns, mysteries, or what have you. Each follows a format that sells and then they just rework the background or characters but the basics are still there.
