I heard if an object reaches the speed of light or close to it that there is a time dilation and while it may seem that only minutes pass for the object traveling at the speed of light the observer who is not traveling at the speed light many years would past. Does that mean the observer sees the object moving slowly during the time the object is traveling if the observer can some how see the object traveling?

Based on what you've said, I believe that means the observer wouldn't not be able to see the object as it is passing far too fast. That's just my take on it anyway

Wouldn't that mean that many years would pass for the object and only a few minutes pass for the observer?
