Do you treat your small dog like a dog or ...for lack of a better word...a toy?  

I see so many people with little dogs...ones that are so little they cant keep up and need to be carried...ones people dress up in little outfits. I feel so sorry for the little dogs that you see celebrities carrying around in a purse...id hate to be carried around in a purse like that!

My boyfriend gets annoyed by little dogs because they arent treated like real dogs and then they expect well i dunno what he thinks they expect.

I have a little dog - he says shes not bad shes treated like a real dog not an ornament or toy - Shes not carried all over the place and she doesnt get dressed up. She plays fetch with me and is my friend...ok so shes allowed on the couch and my bed but shes a dog...if she wants to go roll in the muck she can she just needs a bath before she can come inside.

Other than that..i'm not sure what he means by treated like a real dog.
