At what age do you think it is appropriate to allow your other children in the room during the delivery of their new sibiling. I didnt really want my daughter in the room but I may not have a choice because all the people who watch her are going to be in the room as well. What is your opinion on the age?

We were only in the room when our youngest brother was born. I was 15 at the time, and my sisters were 10 and 3. So, I guess kids can be any age when it's time to watch a sibling being born. We were off to the side, so we didn't see 'everything', but we did see our new brother when he came out, and that was an exciting experience to be there when he first came into the world.

My daughter will be 3 soon. Did it not scare your sister? I want her to be at the hospital but I just dont want her to be freaked out or in the way. My mother in law said if things go wrong she would take her out.

Well, none of us were scared, or freaked out. We stood to the side, so we couldn't see everything that was going on down there, but were able to see him come out from the side.

at 3, i dont know if its very safe. It might cause her some trauma especially if you will start shouting for pain! but, I guess, its better to ask your doctor about it if its mentally or psychologically safe for your daughter to be there with you! On the other hand, its also wonderful since she will really witness at a very young age how it is!

I'm not really sure since I did not want anyone in my room when I was delivering, but my mom and my sister was there for support, which was fime. She was my first and only child also so she didn't have any siblings. I think it is up to the parents and the feelings of the child. If you and them can handle it, then I see no problem iwth it.
