Strange Dream | | Hey, is there anyone who knows how to describe and decipher dreams? If so, please listen. For several days now, I've been plundered by dreams that always make me wake up with tears in my eyes. I will describe my recent one, and hopefully, someone will be able to tell what the heck's going on with my mind.
Okay, so my dream started with me running down the driveway away from my house with my dog beside me. It's pouring and thundering like mad, and my legs feel like they're being weighted down by cement. When I finally reach the end of the driveway, I look down both sides of the road, but I do not remember what I was looking for. I stood there in the rain for what seemed like forever until a car finally pulled up, and the driver told me to get in quickly. I did go in with my dog, and when I got in, I saw that there were a lot more people in there, all speaking rapidly. I don't remember what they were talking about, but we sped down the road. I told them to drop me off at my Grandmother's place, and they did, and when I got into her house, it looked like an earthquake tore through it. My grandmother was stuck in the living room, swearing at my dad and telling him that it was his fault that all of this was happening. And it wasn't just him she cursed. She cursed me, my mother, my siblings, and told us to just go into the basement before the roof collapsed. When we went there, I saw a few girls from my school sitting there with the rest of my family crying. They kept saying things like 'the end's near' and things about the Apocalypse. Then one of them stood and announced that we had to hurry to the nearest airport to escape. At this point, I had realized my dog was no longer with me. I tried to call for him, but I could never find him again. By the time we reached the airport, I stood only with one of the girls and my father. We began to walk up this great staircase, and the girl reached the top before me and vanished. I then stood there with my dad. I pulled a piece of paper from my pocket that had french writing on it, that said that if something was too flawful, it could never be trusted. I changed it to be that if something was too flawful, it COULD be trusted no matter what. I then thought of showing it to my dad, because in real life he and my mom aren't getting along too well, and I wanted to show him that even through that he was quick to judge and hot-tempered, I still loved him. But when I had looked up from the paper, he wasn't standing beside me anymore. I just stood at the top of the staircase calling for him until I forced myself awake.
You don't have to believe this is true, and you can believe that I'm just some weirdo who wants attention, but I assure you: I would never lie about this sort of thing. Call me crazy, call me a loser, call me whatever you like. I don't care. Just please try to help me understand this.

Ok as far as I know, if you dream RAIN, it means something good is going to happen in your life. If you see your passed away realtives cursing anyone in your family it means that the family isnt paying much attention to them and have forgotten them, remember this next time you visit a church. Pray for the loved ones that have passed away always.
Dont know about dogs, nor about seeing crying people.
Ah, if your standing at heights as you said on top of a staircase it means that soon you shall achieve success.
Did you force yourself awake by falling of the staircase or you just woke up?
If you fell, then you might probably think again on the success that you'll achieve soon, becasue you might have problems staying on the top.
Doesnt matter if you didnt fall.
Listen, I'm not an astrologer nor can I read dreams, no one can. But these conclusions have been derived from HIGH PRIESTS like PROPHETS. People used to question them about theier dreams, and some of the common words had these meanings. And so their word passed on and on. This isnt a made-up explanation. Its upto you to decide. Take care.

Browisn (439) | 2 years ago | Let me say right off that I can not decipher dreams, but I had to write and tell you that I believe you have a very good imagination and a great ability to clearly remember your dreams. I can never remember more than a couple of things about any dreams I have. I have to assume by the nature of your dream and also, your moniker for MyLot, that you are a young girl. I would suggest that you ask you father and mother and grandmother to all sit together and listen as you recite your dream just as you have done here. I believe they should have the answer you seek. If that is not possible, maybe you should explain it to a school counselor or a regular psychologist. Good Luck...

However, I'll give it a try based on what I read... and sometimes it's just asking yourself how you feel about specific events or people in your life.
You were running from your house: do you live there? Are you having problems at home? Trying to escape something?
Weather: the horrible weather conditions are most likely symbols of how you feel. Rain are the tears, thunder may be yelling?
Physically you're exhausted, so your legs feel weighed down. It could also be emotionally or mentally, but just expressed physically.
You're with your dog, I assume you are close with him and love him very much. So he's with you, possibly your "rock" in a bad situation. You rely on him for comfort.
Lots of people talking rapidly... could be that you feel smothered or that you feel like an outside or alone even when you're surrounded be people. Because they are talking so fast you cannot keep up with them, cannot understand or feel included.
How is your relationship with your Grandma? Sounds like her house is not a safe place for you (because of the "earthquake"). Although your family is all there, you argue. You're trying to get to the root of the problem (going to the basement) before the "roof collapses" (before the problem gets too bad it's too late to fix it). Not sure why you would see people from school. Are they friends? Do they have anything to do with the situation? How do you feel about them?
End's near - some problem is coming to an end, however you don't see it as a good thing. You're afraid of how it will end.
Airport - trying to escape your problems. You realize your dog, the one who was with you in the beginning, was gone. This furthers the problem, because you relied on him.
Your father - you explained some of this that your parents are arguing but that you want your dad to know you love him. That seems clear that you want to tell him this, but it's difficult. That's why you write it (or change what you feel he thinks?). But then he's gone before you can tell him. And that terrifies you, thinking you have lost him.
Anyway, that's MY interpretation. Things really depend on you to see what is happening in your life and how these events, people, and emotions are brought up in the dream. Hope that helps!

goodnightmoon (1975) | 2 years ago | OK, I'm just checking my dream book and this is what it says about RAIN: "Rain has a strong association with your emotions... The context and intensity of the rainfall is significant. Light drizzle is less serious than downpours and hail."
Thus, from your dream: home (context) and pouring (intensity).
DOG: "Often how you feel about friendships is revealed by dogs."
So maybe you feel abandoned by your friends? Or merely alone since they are unable to help? Or if it's more literal to your dog, then you're afraid you're going to lose something... possibly the relationship you have with others (the parties involved or people you are close with).
EARTHQUAKE: "May mean that you're angry... or experiencing emotional upheaval."
Since it was your Grandma's house, it really depends on your relationship with her. You may be angry with her, or you may find that she's hurting the situation or not helping.
Anyway, hope that provides some insight!

| | 4. gandatwo (377) | 2 years ago | Hi there thirteen13,No I don't think you are some weirdo,or that you are crazy.Dreams like yours are simply your subconscious mind wishing you to reflect on your life and your emotions.I have commented on a few discussions re:dreams. May I suggest you take a peek at these discussions to further your undrstanding. From what you say here I would say you fear your parents relationship will end.Further more you seem to be in denial of this, you of course do not wish this to occour. To you it must seem like the Acocalypse, your world is been turned upside down, and you have no control over any of it. You are running away, you fear the loss of loved ones. The letter written in french is very possibly your not wanting to accept,so you changed the outcome.Your Grandmother may also represent yourself in the dream. Don't be frightened of this dream, you are afraid of what is happening, you wish everything to be peaceful and happy, the car may represent your escape, but it too is filled with apparent chaos...It is a vehicle...also can represent yourself. Don't blame yourself for any of the conflict, nor worry about what friends may think. It is a hard time you are going through emotionally, try to treat yourself to some tender loving kindness, you deserve this. All the best with it,when you address the dream it will stop, reflect for a time on your life, don't beat up on yourself, nor make war on yourself. Cheers

| | 5. wisedragon (2185) | 2 years ago | If the same dream recurs repeatedly, it definitely means something. It's trying to tell you something, perhaps a mission that you need to accomplish, or something that you need to change about your life.
If it's a different bad dream after another, perhaps you're just not comfortable in your sleep. Maybe there's something you need to change about your bed or your pajamas.
If it's just an occasional bad dream that's perfectly normal. Just yesterday I dreamt that my father had died. I woke up with tears in my eyes. You can imagine how glad I was that it was just a dream! It's one of my biggest fears though - losing my parents some day. So perhaps bad dreams can be based on our fears, what we worry about the most.

| | 6. Hatley (21163) | 2 years ago | You are neither weirdo or crazy or a loser. You evidently have been under a strain because your dad and mom are not gettingalong and you probably wish you could change things but know that you cannot. so this comes out in some really bizarre dreams that include your family coming and then disappearing again.

| | 7. fifileigh (3001) | 2 years ago | you sound like me. i cant understand my dreams either. but i keep a dream log for fun and i go on internet dream dictionary and try to interpret it myself. so i am not good at it. i used some of my dreams in my novel The Sand Dollar by Fifi Leigh because they are so surreal and weird. i am guessing about your dream that there seems to be lots of chaos, conflicts and friction between friends and family. in your dream, you seem very tired of trying to help others or solve family relationships that it is wearing you out. maybe you need a vacation from your family and friends to rejuvenate. maybe they are stressing you out. it sounds like you are trying to and you want to escape but you cant because your family and friends wont give you a break. maybe you want an ending to something in your life. but it seems like you are different to solve your problems in the dream with a positive and happy ending.

| | 8. theprogamer (7518) | 2 years ago | First you run away from home with your dog. This could symbolize you running from the comfortable and starting some new task in life. Later rain occurs which could mean sorrow, trouble or apprehension. You also experience a slowdown/weighdown when running away. Either you want to slow down, or maybe something else maybe weighing you down in your life.
A car pulls up and you enter, even though you aren't really supposed to go into strange cars. This could have symbolized another choice in life along the road, something that could be seen as an escape (ironically from another escape that the dream starts with). The people inside talk too rapidly, and this could symbolize facts and actions in life going too fast. Also note that the driver is going fast too along with this. Maybe something in life is rushing you...it could be something like school or work, or maybe something more withdrawn (age perhaps).
You end up at grandmother's house, a possible sanctuary. The house is in shambles and grandmother is cursing at everyone. If this was truly a dream about apocalypse and the end, it could be part of the flow and represented by your own fears of the event. If its something related to life, this could still represent what some events in life are doing to you and how you really feel about them. It could also represent that a sanctuary in your life may no longer be there. Later on you hear "the end is near", but ironically the dream doesn't end, it only continues. When thinking of the apocalyptic frame of mind, the phrase fits, but in terms of life and problem analysis, the phrase would represent something else in your life. Maybe some phase of your life is over or you think it'll be over soon. And next the dream has you fleeing yet again...
Now you are at the airport. You also lose some of the people in your travels, slowly but surely. In a life perspective, this can symbolize loneliness or a growing loneliness. In terms of the end of earth theme, this follows a logic as one can easily lose loved ones in such a situation.
The note is also important symbolism. It has the message that things too flawed can never be trusted, but you changed it to something too flawful could be trusted. And you mention your mother and father in this and their not getting along. In fact, marriages and relationships seem to fail in the present day due to people wanting things flawless (or being completely selfish with demand of flawlessness from their partner). The message itself could also refer to yourself. You are quite right and worthy, flaws and all, and maybe you want others to see this.
The final part, standing on the staircase alone. Its a grand staircase and during the ascent(and entire journey) close ones vanish. You end up alone on a grand climb and perhaps another symbol of loneliness when dealing with a grand event in life. The only other thing I can think of is the last event you do in the dream. You call out for your father, rightly so, but this could be yet another escape in the dream (you supposedly forced yourself awake from here, instead of continuing the dream further). Naturally, this is the most speculative thing in the assessment, but still worth mentioning for dream and life analysis.
