I grew up in a city,we didn't have a car. Now,where I live is quite rural, and I needed to get a car when I got a job in the area..So,I started with a car for the job,but as time went on,and I needed a new(er) car, finance crept in,I got credit cards to pay for fuel,parts,etc..now I need the job to pay for the car! How do you feel about your dependence on the car?
Thanks for responses!

Partly both, especially when I have to make a car payment. I also work at places which have no bus service or I work at night. On my other "job", I travel out to places where they don't have any sort of public transportation at all, not even a taxi service, so I need my car. But, if I didn't work, I would hardly be driving, but I would be very limited as to where I would be able to go.
