every time when you shop for groceries, do you make a list and go by it?
or you just remember the things you are about to buy and then pick those up at the super market?
do you also buy extra what you have written on list by looking at the things in market?
Or you are particular about going by the list only.

Hi there subha. I often buy groceries for the house so yes either i make the list, or my mother does, but always i mean always something extra seems to make it's way in the shopping basket although it's not on the list.

I always make a grocery list and go by it. I also add my groceries up as I go along also. Sometimes I pick up a few extra things if I have any left to spend. I make sure to get everything on the list first though because most usually we are out of it and need it to make meals.

hey subha12 It is very common thing for us(Indian). Whenever I go for shopping for groceries I must prepare a list of items which are to be purchased as I can not recall all these items chronologically . Once in a month I use to go to shop groceries and there are nearly 40 to 50 items which is not possible for me to rmember . It is better to have list of items so that there is no scope for leaving any item.

hm yeah. it helps me to stay focus to buy the goods that i need it although i know that i can remembered it
the main purpose when i went to grocery, i would fulfill mylist firstly then see if there is something good to buy or additional goods which has good price and quality.
surely, i should make sure that it won't make me over budget in shopping dear friend

|I rarely make a list but my son always makes a list because he is afraid of forgetting something. I don't forget, but both of us will add things once we get to the store, if it is on sale and something we always buy.

i usually do a list before going to the grocery to remind me of what to buy and it restricts my budget only to the things that we really need at home. now, if i have some extra money then that is the time i splurge on some grocery items.

Sometimes I make a list, sometimes I do not. Either way I almost always forget something that I needed to get regardless of it being on my list or not.
The last time I went shopping I did not make a list and forgot two items. Oh well, there is always tomorrow!
Oh yeah, and when I do make a list I almost always get things that were not written down on it. The only times I don't do this is when money is really really tight. And on those days I even skip on getting some of the things that were written down on this list.

yup, i make a list and most importantly i double check that i take enough cash when i leave the house for shopping. I have a bitter experience of shopping and finally left stranded at the cash counter, because i did not take the cash at all from my house, while i went for shopping.

i do make a 'shopping-list'...
but it is actually meant to remind to get all that i need..
i do know some people who strictly would not buy anything that is not listed - but i am afraid i am as 'strong' as them...
so.. i make a list to make sure i get the things that i must buy.. and top of that... i would still buy other things as i go along... especially if i see things (food items) that are selling at very, very good bargains...
still... i have a fixed budget everytime i shop.. so matter what... i'll alway try to spend within that budget...

Hi dear subha, most of the time I don’t make any list when I go to the shop for groceries. I would pick whatever things which are on sale and worth to buy while browsing in the hypermarket. I don’t buy any stuffs which I am not going to use even though they are very attractive and low in price when on sale.

2 years ago, I used to have one. But eventually, I got rid of it and committed to memory the things I need to buy. I usually buy the same items so the list is basically useless for me. Most often, I just pick up the things I do need. But when something does attract my eye and the wallet allows it, then I go buy it!

I make a list when buying groceries. It saves me a lot time and that keeps me from practicing impulse buying.

Hi subha. Since Im watching my expenses, I do make a list before I shop. It helps me to remember the necessary things I needed for the week and not to be tempted to grab unnecessary things. I am an impulsive buyer and trying to get rid that habit of mine. The listing strategy saves me a lot of money

i seldom make lists before going to supermarket, for i'm not good at planning. i like doing things randomly and freely, so i always end up buying extra things! but i don't think it is a bad thing, because finding news things is exciting and things i buy i'll make into use in a certain time.
