Watching all 3 |
|
My husband has never watched any of the lord of the rings movies and I got him to watch part of one last weekend. Now he really wants to see them. I own the 2nd and 3rd on DVD but am considering renting the 1st one tonight. I think we will watch them over the weekend. That is a way to assure we will stay home and not go out spending any money. Has anyone else watched them over a period of a day or two? Am I gonna suffer major burnout?

Yeah i was kindoff tired off watching tv all day! But didn't had a burnout or something! You just have to see them! And you and your husband have like the wholo weekend. So cuddle up and watch them nicely together spread over the weekend. If your husband wonna spread them!

babykeka80 (673) | 4 months ago | I have seen them and he always said I dont like that sort of thing until he seen about 30 minutes of the 2nd one. Then he was like this is pretty cool. He always thought they were kids movies. LOL Sure proved him wrong. I thought they were gonna be geeky couldnt figure out the big deal when they first came out then I was forced to watch one and LOVED IT.

babykeka80 (673) | 4 months ago | There is no way I could do them all 3 in a day. I would have to spread them out a little bit. I just needed to find a way to keep us occupied so we wont spend any money and he hasnt seen them so thought this would be a good idea.

3. recycledgoth (6160) | 4 months ago | The trilogy is amazing and in my opinion has to be watched all in one go. Make a weekend of it, snuggle down with popcorn and drinks, take the phone off the hook and enjoy.

babykeka80 (673) | 4 months ago | I have watched all three but not even close together sometimes I have seen them months apart. Maybe I will notice some things I didnt before if I watch them closer together. That will give us some time to enjoy the peace before the new baby arrives too.

4. dawnald (683) | 4 months ago | I watched them three nights in a row, one each night. It wasn't too much for me but it was probably too much for my husband. But then I've read LOTR at least 30 times and he never has, so guess which one of us is the fan!!!

babykeka80 (673) | 4 months ago | Thats how I had thought about doing it. One a night over each night of the weekend. I have never read the books either. I thought the books may be a little bit tough to get into but as much as you have read them I guess not. Maybe I will do that then this weekend.

dawnald (683) | 4 months ago | Depends on what you consider tough. I didn't find them too tough and I started reading them when I was 12, but I REALLY like to read. Some people will find them a bit too dry, I think. But I loved them (obviously).

| 5. Mazrim_Taim (3) | 4 months ago | yes I must say the lord of the rings rocked, but the second movie was my favorite, the first was a bit of a sleeper, and the last one was a bit predictable, but don't you think it would be awesome if they produced another lord of the rings movie? I have heard rumors about them making a movie called the hobbit(the one with Bilbo and the dragon) that looks pretty cool to, I only saw the cartoon version of that movie.

babykeka80 (673) | 4 months ago | I have also heard rumors of them making the hobbit. I should check on IMDB and see if that is true or not. I liked the 2nd and 3rd ones. The first had a lot of detail of the background of the story that was crucial though.

6. icequeen123 (270) | 4 months ago | Yes I have seen all three extended films back to back and totally recommend it, it is a great experience as this is probably the best ever film, ever. I would recommend having supplies to hand, such as drinks, and snacks so that you dont have to keep getting up and pausing the DVD. Whether you spread them out, or watch back to back, I really hope your other half will enjoy the movie.

babykeka80 (673) | 4 months ago | I am definitely going to have to try it now. Everyone says they are even better when you watch them that way. I need to see if he wants to do that this weekend so we can go rent the first one.

7. emeraldisle (9054) | 4 months ago | I have watched them all in one weekend. It's not bad when you do a movie a day. I wouldn't want to try and watch all three in one day but I also have the extended versions which are longer. That can make a difference. We actually watched them all recently. We took our time and we would watch the first half of a movie at night and then the second half during the day the next day, then that night the first half of the next movie. It worked out well since each movie has 2 discs to it. Good luck with it and I hope he enjoys them.

8. stephcjh (11096) | 4 months ago | I haven't seen all of them either, but my husband and my daughter have. I never was really interested in them either but here recently I got interested in it. We rent Netflix movies and my husband rents movies like that all of the time. I never did like them until now. I don't think you will get burnt out at all if you really like it.
