April 12, 2008 8:46am CST
A dopey Asda worker was duped by a radio prankster onto announcing to a storefull of customers 'Tesco is cheaper'. Darren Simpson, known for his stunts in South Africa, rang the UK supermarket and got through to the woman making tanny announcements. The joker told her he had lost his daughter Tess and asked her if she could put out a call for her. Darren told her she has a double-barrelled surname - Cosers-Cheaper. The woman says to shoppers 'Tess Coser-Cheaper' Darren replies to her "Is Tesco really cheaper? I think Im going to shop there." The announcer at Asda in South London shouted "No!" before hanging up. There is a clip on youtube which is proofing to a be a massive hit.
