Obama admits comments weren't well-phrased  

Good its about time people see him in a different light!..Love these excuses for opening mouth and enclosing foot! lol
This is just a beginning of what will happen..if he makes it.

I just responded to another discussion about this same thing. I'm from a small town in Pa. and what he said was not offensive at all if you put it in the proper context. So he could have phrased it better - doesn't that happen to us all now and then? The funniest thing about this was McCain saying Obama's out of touch.

We are all humans. We make mistakes. But you see, some mistakes need to be committed in times when it is rather tolerable. Unfortunately for Obama, his oversight was just ill-timed.

Ho hum, thanks for that icy. All politicans put their foot in it at some time or other! They are really funny when they do do it. Others laugh at them too and if they are an opponent then they take the opportunity to slam them in the press. Oh well, it is going to get far, far worse the nearer you get to the elections! Hilary isn't a saint so she should watch out for any 'gaffs', too!

I find it rather funny that people are all over this comment. I think I understand the point he was trying to make. It wasn't a slam, it was him trying to make the point that working class voters are bitter, and are clinging to the only things left the government can't take away, and that is freedom of religion and the right to bear arms.

I'm a white, middle class American. My husband is a white middle class American who works for a living. I am a disabled American Veteran, who got injured in service to this country. I took pride in the fact that I could, just like my Grandfather and Uncles did, serve our country proudly. What have I gotten in return? Crappy treatment facilities at the VA, which I had to fight to get. Am I bitter? Damn Skippy I am. Why? Because the current powers that be in Washington and in our government have not been doing what is right for my country, and people like me. Am I bitter? You bet your buns I am. Why? Because we continue to see increasing gas prices that the big oil companies are loving every minute of because they know WE WORKING CLASS AMERICANS HAVE TO HAVE IT TO GET TO WORK SO WE CAN PAY OUR BILLS AND KEEP OUR HOMES. Damn Skippy I'm Bitter. Am I bitter? Absolutely! Will I defend my home, my family with my guns should someone come after us? You bet I will. What do I have? My own belief in God and the right to protect what is mine and what I have worked for.

Am I bitter????? Yes I am!! These rich bureaucrats can sit there and they have the controll. They have to controll to reinstate the draft and force my children to join the military and be shipped off into a war that our president is so proud to be involved in because he is so proud to be a "War President".

Am I bitter? Do I think it's time to get someone in the Oval office who knows what it's like to scrape to get by. Who knows what is't like to live pay check to pay check. He grew up with it. Did Hilary? HA! She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Did McCain......... HA HA HA.. another rich big business cronie who grew up in the priviledged lifestyle.

So would I be offended by saying I cling to guns and religion? Hell No. It's the only thing that is still guaranteed to me by the constitution that the current powers haven't been able to take away from me.

Obama has put his foot in his mouth quite a few times during his campaign but I think he does realise it very qucikly. He recently put his foot in his mouth in a live speech and immediately apologised for it, LOL.
