Do your children get excited when invited to a birthday party? |
|
My 5 yr old son was invited to a birthday pool party today by one of his friends at school. He is so excited as this is the first birthday he has been invited to by one of his friends from school.
He woke up at 6am and I was still fast asleep. He came to our room and woke me up and said "Mom is it time to go to the pool party?" LOL Talk about excited.
He's been harping on me to get ready and it's only 9.30am. The pool party starts at 1pm and pizza is at 3pm. He is already dressed and ready to go. I packed his bag last night so we wouldn't have to worry about doing it today.
I guess I better get going and finish doing some household chores before it's time to go.
So, as the title says, do your children get excited when invited to a birthday party? do they hurry you along to get ready and dressed? do they ask you every 20 minutes whether it's time to go yet? LOL Happy Sunday!

1. gemini_rose (10123) | 2 years ago | Yes mine get excited when they get invited to parties, and they drive me nuts as they always get invited about 3 weeks before the actual party and so I get asked "how long" every single day! I have one of mine going to a party tomorrow, and then my 6 year old has also been invited to a pool party in about 3 weeks time. We were not going to let him go at first, because he cannot swim and we did not like the idea of leaving him on his own at a swimming pool!! But the girl who is organising said that a parent can go in with them, so now we are happy about that and we are letting him go!!

maddysmommy (10990) | 2 years ago | I hope he gets to enjoy it as much as my son did today. There was only one other parent swimming but they did have life guards on duty so all was good. He loved it and I took lots of pictures for his daddy too.

3. Modestah (7932) | 2 years ago | oh how fun!
parties are always exciting, whether they are your own or someone elses.... and for a kid it is such an honor to be invited. I am thrilled for your son... though I know it may get nagging to have him prodding you along like that.
is there some way of helping him understand when 3:00 is? maybe it will be time after such and such a show is over?

maddysmommy (10990) | 2 years ago | I actually did use your answer modestah and told him after his show on Sprout that it would be time to go. He still asked me several minutes into the show though haha
He had a wonderful time swimming and enjoyed it with his friends.

4. SomethingGood332 (1344) | 2 years ago | My husband and I live with my mother-in-law and 9-yr.-old sister-in-law. Well, my sister sometimes visits with her son, who plays with my S-I-L. She sent an invitation to his 3rd birthday party, which was yesterday. For several weeks, SIL has been reading and re-reading the invite, asking questions, and counting off the days. Party day, the child, who will not get out of bed before 10 am without a good reason and a struggle, woke the household up at 7:30 in the morning, dress, and started asking when we were going to the party, could we leave yet, and why we taking so long to get dressed.

6. whyaskq (5099) | 2 years ago | Children are children, they are excited over any events and outings, especially if it involves them. I do not have any children but I have observed from my nephews and nieces, they all behave the same. They get excited over attending a birthday party. They are even excited about the present they are going to give.

He had a fun time today and wants to go back to swim again soon.

maddysmommy (10990) | 2 years ago | haha I don't think my son is going to let me out of it either. He has already written out his list of friends he wants to invite and yet we have not even decided on what to do for his birthday IF we are going to celebrate it. Last year it was just the two of us because we didn't know anyone when we arrived here. Now he wants to invite his whole class and no way are we going to cater for 28 kids LOL I would rather 3-4 to come around home and have it here, simple and sweet:)We shall see!
