Why should you ever have to work again? Why should you have to buy medical insurance for yourself? Why even bother finishing your degree at Virginia Tech? You were the victim of a crime that the press deemed worthy of their coverage. You went through trauma and horror that should be rewarded to an exact dollar amount!
Who cares if the taxpayers of Virginia weren't the ones who shot up your school! It's your right to be compensated! They should have no problem forking over boatloads of money! Anyone who would complain about this is just heartless. They must think you should have to pay for your trauma by not getting this money!
How else can we, as those who care, atone for the shame we feel? How could we live with ourselves if we didn't put this kind of price tag on the lives of those who were murdered? Money, after all, is what makes everything all right!
What, some cold hearted miser asked why the victims of other horrors aren't getting paid too? How dare they ask that question! Of course your pain and suffering is worse than anyone else's... It's YOURS!
So, please accept this money taken by force from the people of the great commonwealth of Virginia. Take it and consider yourself lucky that YOU got traumatized by a mad freak.
If it isn't enough, be sure to sue us for more!

| |  Please,if that had happen to you or one of your loved ones I bet you would be singing a different tune.That was one of the most tragic events since columbine.Cho family don't have the funds to justly compensate the victims.Where else are they suspose to get compensation from,either virginia Tech or the state of Virginia.You sound as if they the victims don't deserve a dime of this money,shame on you after all them"victims"went through.They should sue that's their right in this country,they should almost sue the gun makers of the weapons Cho used in this terrible crime.

When I did disaster relief missions, I spent weeks on end helping people rebuild from disasters. Very few of them ever talked about money from anyone. All they wanted was to get back to their lives, already in progress.
