I've been watching the Sopranos on A&E. I never subscibed to HBO so I didn't see the series when it was on. I think it is really gripping as a show. I think I prefer the A&E version because it is alittle bit sanitized. It is still raunchy and violent however. I heard recently that A&E is going to start showing ther series at 4pm. I don't agree with that. Kids may be switching it on when they get home from school. Not every parent knows how or is available to use the vchip. verdict: Sopranos great for adults not for kids.

I watched it a bit on HBO back when we had a free couple of months during a promo package but for the most part I watch it strictly on A&E. I don't know if I agree with it being on at 4pm but most kids who can be home alone are older and it shouldn't be a problem for them. I agree an 8 year old shouldn't be watching them but they also shouldn't be home alone. If they aren't alone then the parent or sitter should know what the child is watching. It's not up to A&E or any channel for that matter to decide who is watching their shows. It's up to the viewers to determine it and to determine if their child is watching it or not. Let's face it most Soap Operas aren't right for kids to watch but they are on during the daytime along with Law & Order on TNT and a host of other shows. So where do you draw the line? Just have kid shows on until 9pm? That isn't right either. It has to be up to us and if the parents really don't want their child to watch it they would find a way to either block it or to keep an eye on what their child is watching.
