I realized one thing while watching this episode. That is, that I think Spike is slightly homophobic, not severely because he works in the restaurant industry and LGBT folks are too common there for a severe homophobe to survive, but the way he acted was really inappropriate. He was basically making fun of Jen and Zoi's relationship mainly because I think he's lonely, and because I think he wants to get in on the relationship, too. And then he acted like Jen's winning the Quickfire was some sort of lesbian conspiracy. I'm sorry, dude, you are on the bottom. The reason you were had nothing to do with your sexuality. Does anyone else get this vibe from him? Maybe I'm overreacting because of the way that he acted last week when Zoi went home, but I really don't think so.

Television does a lot of editing to get a reaction from the viewers at home. I don't know how much was removed, but I'm certain that Bravo wants us to react. My reaction is none, as I'm waiting for the show where they talk to the chefs about the show. I'm certain this will get covered. I know every single season they want us to dislike somebody. The network wants ratings, so causes conflicts.

I can see why you would think that, and I think the real truth is that Spike is just generally blunt and insensitive. He seems like such a jerk that he will give anyone better than him a hard time. Obviously Jenn was better than Spike, and I think he felt awkward after Zoi was eliminated. He started in on Antonia, blaming her for Zoi's departure, and I think he thought it would score points with Jenn. Instead, Jenn acted classy, and got on Spike for browbeating Antonia.
