What are the Smoking Laws in your area?

Seems like everyday they are adding a new smoking law. I myself am a smoker, although I do see both sides to the topic. 5 years ago I quit during a pregnancy and at the time it was still legal to smoke in restaurants, and that bothered me. Now that I have started up again certain laws can be annoying. Smoking is banned from ALL public places, including our fairgrounds which is an outdoor venue. In New York state they have just recently passed a law that you may no longer smoke with children in the vehicle.
I understand the reason behind it, but I just think that's foolish. Parents who smoke with children in the car probably also smoke in their home, and the mothers most likely smoked while pregnant, so how is this new law helping the children?
Just to clear things up, I am a smoker, but I always smoke away from my children!
So what are the laws where you live and what do you think of them?

i am a smoker and have been off and on for 30 years. i have never smoked in my home. i have smoked in the car when i am by myself. i can not stand the smell of smoke on another person especially if they were smoking in their own car with the windows up. sometimes i treat myself to a smoke if i walk up to the school to get the kids. i get such horrible looks from people because i am smoking! you would think it is a sin around here in ontario canada!
