With my town still reeling from the shock of 2
16 year old girls deaths less then 48 hours ago
My mind is going crazy...how to stop this
ever happening again...
How to make people understand....
Then I realize that next weekend
many of the same kids that attended
the party that led to this tragedy
will be at a new party...getting drunk..
getting high..and crying about the
lost and using as just another excuse
to do what they are doing...
Today I feel discouraged!
Today I feel powerless!

There are kids who will do that Mom but there are also many kids who won't and some of them because of what happened to their friends will hold life so much more preciously and be determined not to make the same sacrifice! Please do not despair Mom , I know it is difficult but I am sure things will improve! xxx

Oh My God, what do you mean they already moved on. That easy?. If that is the case, we can never help them. It will be very frustrating because they did not care or ever mourn for a days. That's really discouraging.

Hi raydene! That is somehow frustrating, is it not? You think we can all learn from that. But after the tears, after hurting for a few days, the cycle begins. History repeats itself and we never learn. It is very discouraging indeed. Most of us easily forgets. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

Hi raydene, I doubt if there is anyway to stop it from ever happening again. Some will learn from it, but not all. Drinking and driving is a problem in most places, and seems hard to control. Of course, we can't blame it all on the young people, many see their parents doing the same, and therein lies the dilemma. Children will imitate their parents and actions always speak louder than words. I know that this isn't true all the time, but parents have a big responibility, and not everyone is ready for it. Blessings.

I can certainly understand your feelings. But, what can be done? I guess when I feel powerless, it is time for me to get on my knees and let God handle it because it is usually too big for me too. I am sorry that your town has to go through this. Bless you.

where are the parents of all those drunken kids? Will they not supervise these kids, do they not care about the girls that just lost their lives and do they not want to protect them from the same thing from occurring.

My big question to this what are the parents doing about these 16 year old kids running around and not knowing what they are doing.Seems to me that more and more I have noticed kids are leaving home at age 12 and just go and there parents have no idea where there going, nor do they check to see if the parents are home at the kids friends house..It was alot easier when one parent could be home an, they would have a little supervision and guidance for the kids but the way that it is alot of people are just powerless for most of them can actually sit down at the end of the night and think where are the kids, are they safe???good question I work at home and know where my kids are all the time.
