Do you like to use the latest version software?

I am not interested in using the latest version software. As long as the current software works well, I like to keep on using it. I am sure the latest version will add more features and improvements. However, it will be larger. And perhaps it will have some unknown bugs as it just released.

That will depend largely on what the application is doing and what is the impact to the task at hand if we use the newer version. Most of the time, the newer version of the same application will be fixes to bugs that appear in the last version. But sometimes, it does offer an improvement in the performance of the tasks it is meant to do due to improvement in the languages that it is coded in. So if the improvements in the performance is good for the task at hand, why not do the upgrade. Imagine, if the new version can complete the same task at half the time due to improvements in the algorithms that run it, wouldn't you want to exploit that feature?

As mentioned before, it all depends on the task at hand. For example, if firefox release a newer stable version of the browser that you are using, will you upgrade? I cannot imagine still using netscape browsers when the firefox is so much faster and more efficient in the way it handles a web page. So again, depending on the task at hand, it may or may not be feasible to upgrade the software version that you are using.

But the latest software is usually bigger and it may slow down your computer. Besides, it may have new bugs

as like you dear friend, as long as the new software is friendly in using and not make any kind of bug then i will go for it. the only thing that i hate in here is the coming up of any bugs in software cause it will bother me much in doing my activities

wow, once again i agree with u. i think it's kinda like the whole vista release thing, cuz my new comp has vista and my old one had xp, and vista doesn't really do anything new or spectacular. the only new thing is its looks, and frankly, i don't care. also, vista uses a whole lot more RAM and stuff on stuff i don't need. and it has some bugs in it....so i would rather use the old software

Most times I try to upgrade my Internet Explorer, Comodo Firewall or other free based software the minute a patch or newer version becomes available. That's for security reasons. Many times the upgrade or patch fixxes a security vulnerability. There are so many free software programs on the Internet, it is almost unnecessary to buy software these days. I've got tons of software and I'm always posting it on my blog. Love that stuff! LOL! As far as buying software, because it is new. I try not to do that often. Only because I am likely to change my mind after the fact and allow the software to laungish on a shelf somewhere unused. That's an expensive habit. I can more easily recoup if the software is free or low cost.

Do you think the latest version of IE is better? I have heard some people have negative comments to it. So I am very careful not to upgrade the software easily. Once you upgrade to the latest version, you can't get it back if you feel regretful to it.

Im not into using the latest version of software specially if its been just release in the market and only few or none of my friends have try it. I rely on feedback and if its really been tested and proven before using the latest software.

well, usually I would wait for around one or two months until some people give feedbacks or comments about the latest version. if they give good mark for the version, I would also try it especially when the current one I use is getting worse. but if the latest version has gotten bad mark from the people, well, I would skip the upgrade until they finally release the real stable version.

No I am not interested in using the latest version software mainly because of what you said that there are usually some bugs unfixed. I would like to wait for some reviews or solutions before switching over.

Hi youless! I agree with you dear friend! I am comfortable in using my current software and I don't have the need to get the latest version as of yet. I do notice that on every latest versions as it is just released, there are still minor problems to be worked out as always and some unknown bugs to be discovered. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

To me, that depends on what kind of softeare it is. If they are the chatting software or something like that, I prefer to use the latest version. But gererally I share the same point of view as you. The latest version softeare will always add some burden to my laptop which is 2 years since I brouht it. Thus if the software is already sufficient right now, I woud not bother to use the latest one.

It's somewhat a bit annoying that sometimes MSN will notify you to upgrade it.

Software, I love the most and all time I just looking for more softwares and I am so eager that I just used to goto the computer market where all those softwares CD/DVD's were for sale purpose and the rates are pretty much cheaper,,,almost Rs.10 ~~25cents which includes around 100's of software if its a CD, and if its DVD then its about 1000's of softwares and I just used to check all those software and have much fun around them, But now the time is different, now I have the internet and I just go through the site which software I am interested and then just download it, Its a pretty time consuming to download some big software but I just do it...
