I have whiting and I don't know a good way to make it. I always do the basic throw it in the oven and bake it with nothing on it.
So, I am looking for ways to bake it still, but any ideas on what else to do with it?
Thanks in advance.

Well, let me post you a recipe that my mom always cooked for us.

It is a filipino dish though.

"Daing na bangus"
(meaning salted and dried milkfish)

1 kg Bangus (Milkfish) cleaned

1/4 cup Coconut vinegar
2 Serrano peppers
1/2 tsps Salt
1/2 tsps Ground pepper
2 cloves Crushed garlic
1/3 cup Peanut oil

Preparation
Cut your fish lengthwise along the back, taking great care in not breaking the skin. The place the fish skin side down in a a wide and shallow container. Add vinegar, peppers, garlic, salt and ground pepper, and let marinate in your refrigerator for 24 hours, turning the fish over after the initial 12.
To prepare, drain, and fry with oil in a large skillet for 5 or 6 minutes, or until the fish reaches a golden brown color.

Serve over steamed rice.

That sounds SO SO good. Thanks. I don't know what milkfish is though. I guess I can use the whiting that I have.
I will add this to my little collection for the future. I don't have a lot of what is needed in this recipe.

well I would make a little pocket of aluminum foil and put in some onions, zuchini, or whatever veggies you like with some butter and bake it in the oven.

Besides frying it with cornmeal, which isn't too healthy, try sprinkling lemon pepper over it generously, then baking it in a covered dish. Garlic salt is good that way, too.

Yep, I bake it like that too. I can't wait to get the grill out

Hi Kaysue. You don't said if your fish is whole or slice. For seasoning you put salt, black pepper and nutmeg (if you have) and white wine. Let it stay for 3 or 4 hours on refrigerator (mix twice). If your fish is whole baked it on oven with the seasoning and boiled potatoes with butter (only to get a nice color). If your fish is slice, put it in the same seasoning and let stay the same time. After that wrap up each slice with flour and fry. Put in a dish and cover all with a tomatoes sauce and grated cheese. Hope that can help you.
cheers

Here in our country we have different spices for different meat, fish, meat, chicken, vegetables, and many more, if you are looking for another way of cooking fish which your family can appreciate, try this.

of course you will use fish as the same as you are baking.
put dressing of lemon juice and olive oil, salt and black pepper, leave it for 30 minutes to absorb the juices. " fish baharat"its arabic spices 1 tables spoon in a minces tomatoe, onion, "cusbara leaves" for the stomach of the fish and wrap it with foil and bake it and serve it hot with arabic bread.
