Conservatist propaganda movie?  | |  On a forum I belong to someone made a comment about how 300 was a conservative propaganda movie. They said that the spartans represented our troops in Iraq, that it depicted the army of xerxes as a "black army of heathens" and drew several other parallels between modern life in a similar way. The comment was political and was deleted by a mod, but I think they made an interesting point. I myself didn't see what they were saying as true I think that it would make an interesting discussion....
So discuss!

 thelastwolf113 (1157) | 3 months ago |  Yep, it was based on actual events, so unless the Spartans had a prophetic vision complete with a war with Xerxes just so it could parallel US/Iraq at this moment, I'd laugh it off.
History repeats. That's just the way of it, you could draw the same parallels with almost every war in history.
