Have you ever seen a celebrity in the grocery store?

I did! When my children were small (and until last year) I lived in Arizona and was shopping in the grocery. I was dragging a cart with the food and the two kids were in the cart I was pushing. I backed up and bumped into George Lynch, guitarist for Dokken! (This was years ago, of course, but he still looks good!)
His cart had mostly vegetables and fruits, some whole grain bread, yogurt and a package of chicken breasts. I had bought into the stereotype of rocks stars sending other people to do their shopping and eating steaks and drinking copious amount of booze. I was surprised at his healthy cart! And he was dressed like anyone else, tshirt and jeans with tennis shoes. He was very polite and excused himself even though it was my fault. I didn't let him know I recognized him and apologized in return.
Have you seen any celebrities food shopping?

I have not been around too many lately. There are several country stars who show up in Houston at times. But I haven't seen any. Years ago I did end up in line at a toy store in from of Robert Reed who at that time was playing basketball with the Houston rockets. I also was at a reception and football game with President Lyndon Johnson. Of course we all had to be checked out by the Secret Service. That was interesting.

That's pretty cool! When I was younger, I was always surprised that famous folks are just like us. Did you get to talk to President Johnson? I hear he was kind of cantankerous but his wife was very gracious.

Enola, you're so lucky to have seen Mr. Gleason. He entertained me as both a child and an adult!

I'm not sure everyone would consider him a celebrity, but my friend and I once ran into former Senator Paul Simon in the grocery store. We were shopping for a Sunday barbeque, and I'm not sure what he was shopping for, but he was very friendly, and said hello to us.
He only lived about 10 miles down the road from the town we lived in, so it's not surprising that we ran into him. He has since passed away, so it's a great memory of an influential person.

I've heard of him. I guess I should've included public figures in my discussion because it can be fascinating to meet them, too!
(you don't look very scary!

I have never seen a celebrity in a grocery store unless you count the local newscasters. I don't live in a locatation where celebrities would normally be. It was nice of you t apologize and finish your shopping.

Local newscasters count, too. I remember seeing one in the grocery one day and my friend told me that was so-and-so and I could hardly believe it because I'd never seen him without his makeup--he was older than on tv and really wrinkled!
