Cancer society: Uninsured 60 percent more likely to die within 5 years of diagnosis Uninsured Atlanta man has had cancer for 25 of his 52 years He eventually got insurance, but treatment came too late. My mother is one of many without medical insurance..Does this affect anyone you know? Does it affect your opinion on Universal Healthcare?

That is awful. We have not had insurance for years now. We cannot afford it. I wish we could have universal healthcare for everyone. It is not fair that we cannot see a doctor or get the care we need because we simply cannot pay for the insurance and the fees that follow after using it.

Yes, this affects my Grandmother right now, because she cannot afford even the insurance that her job provides. It would either be get the insurance, or pay the household bills for her. This doesn't affect my opinion about universal healthcare, I have always thought that there needed to be something in place so that people who are in between (make too much money for Medicaid, yet not enough to get their own because of living expenses) can get the healthcare they need. The only problem I have is with Hillary Clinton's plan to make it mandatory to get healthcare. I have never understood how making being uninsured against the law would help the in betweeners. And then if you don't get insurance, they will take your tax return away from you, putting people further in debt. Exactly how is this helping?
