1. nowment (1060) | 3 months ago | The first 20k would be spent on necessary bills, debts, then I would want to invest part and save part. But with high interest type of savings,

nowment (1060) | 3 months ago | I was still typing, and must have hit something on puter cause it posted before I could finish. Some of the most immediate debts would be to get bills caught up that is for those that may be behind. I think I would want to get car running well. I would then find out more on various business' and what would be needed for small business loan since if you have a chunk of money in the bank you can get a loan but if you don't have money in the bank you can't. I am not sure what I would do for a business I would first want to know what would be the best in current circumstances and what would also have best for future potential. Some ideas might be some kind of established chain, ie, store like wawa, or something like that, though it is not what I would prefer, I would prefer to have a book store, but I know from having worked in and managed book store in the past that when money gets tight that money spent on this is considered a luxury and tend to go down in business. I know of a great idea for the area for a store that can do well and who should manage it to make it potentially long term profitable, but as it is dealing with auto parts, lol would have to rethink that with the current gas prices. SO I think that banking most of it, would be best, til I researched the best way to invest it so it can make money for me, and then with a certain amount set aside for a nice worry free vacation, In the current economy 100,000 is not really that much money. Once the money started making money I would then get some work done on the house. Remodeling etc.

joimarquez (1226) | 3 months ago | yeah i totally agree...getting into a business that you havent done a research first might just end up closing it... thats really wise thinking it first how to spend that kind of money and putting it in the bank is probably the safest and gaining interest while you research the best business for u.

3. KrauseHome (7321) | 3 months ago | There is a double wise my husband and I have had our eye on since October, and have tried for Financing on it at least twice. I still want that place unless someone else buys it first, and am in the process of really seeing what it would take to get in there. But if I won $100,000 the first thing I would do, is contact the realtor of that place, and let them know we were dead serious now, and we have $100,000 in cash right now to give as a down payment on that place. I would hope then there would be no issue about who should own it then. (We would still owe more on it, but this would be a major dent in the start of it being 100% ours.)

4. paid2write (2664) | 3 months ago | I will never win that much because I don't gamble or do the lottery, but I suppose I can think what I would do with that amount of money. Sadly it is true that it will not go a long way with the price of things today. It would help me a lot in paying all my future bills and it would give me some financial security. I would invest half in a high savings account and use the rest to try and make more money. I think I would start my own business with it.

6. tigertang (1443) | 3 months ago | A $100,000 ain't allt of money but its also more money than most people earn in two-years. It's not allot of money in the sense that it won't solve your worries in one go but its enough to solve allot of problems. Like most of you, I would probably use it to pay off bills, set a good portion aside for a rainy day and build up a source of passive income in which I would have the foundation to build upon it. Would also go for a special get away from it all holiday.

joimarquez (1226) | 3 months ago | a $100,000 would probably give you a huge mansion depending where your country is but overe here in the states. a hundred thousand wont even buy you a regular house. european tour is kinda nice...hmmm i should include that on my way to spend it too hehehe

|
joimarquez (1226) | 3 months ago | so thats like your own pension? does it earn interest? how are you gonna claim it in the end?
| |
|
|
blackbriar (4945) | 3 months ago | Yes it earns interest and when you reach retirement age, you can draw on the interest only or the whole amount w/o being taxed.
