Does Your Family Get Along

I feel truly blessed. I spent Saturday with 4 of my 5 children and their children and grandchildren, my ex and his wife. We were all gathered to celebrate the wedding of my youngest daughter. She got married in Oregon then flew to Texas for a family reception because none of us were able to make it to the wedding.
We had 4 generations gathered in the same spot, not to mention that my children's father and I are divorced and we were both there.
The day went smoothly with only a few momentary flare ups that never even erupted into raised voices. The only bad thing is that one of my sons didn't get to make it. That would have been a perfect day, but it can't be much more perfect.
I must be the most blessed parent in the world to have such a big family that gets along so well. Even the babies ages 1 through 5 got along well.

That's great. The reason I started this discussion is because my (grown) son and I got to talking on the way home and he was commenting on how some of his friends dreaded going to family get-to-gathers because there was always some kind of argument or fight.
I know we're considered weird by some people, but I think it's marvelous. We allow everyone to have their own "unique difference", but still be a family.

That is so good to hear. We always hear about people not geting along and problems but this is great. My friends father divorced her mother and took the kids from Serbia to Australia and promised that he would bring her here but never did. When his daughter was getting married and was bringing her mom here he said if she came he wasnt going to the wedding and not paying for it.
No my family get along perfectly we are very close and we get together a lot (but then again is only 9 soon to be 10 of us) my father and mother, my sister her husband and 2 sons and me and my husband and son.

Yes my family really does got along so well. Every year we gather to have a family reunion during christmas or new years eve. And every family occasion we call up each other and plan for a simple dinner or lunch.
