I was going over the website of a local broadcasting company and I got this news!
Shell, Chevron announce P1 per liter hike in pump prices
[i]After oil companies hinted earlier this week of more frequent price hikes, the oil firms instead chose to double their price increase.
Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corporation and Chevron Philippines (formerly Caltex) on Friday night announced another round of price hikes in their petroleum products effective Saturday morning, raising prices by P1.00 per liter.
In separate text messages, Pilipinas Shell and Chevron announced Friday evening a price hike for all their petroleum products.
Shell's hike will be effective 12:01 a.m. Saturday, while Chevron's hike will take effect at 6 a.m. the same day.

Oh my! What else are we expecting in the days to come?

Hi dolce_vita! Oh my, what a sad fate for most of us Filipinos. It is really getting very hard for most of us. Life is really difficult nowadays and I just don't know how I can possibly stretch our budget nowadays. If the fuel has increased again, surely almost all commodities will increase again. I just hope this will end soon for there are a lot of Filipinos starving nowadays. Take care dear friend and God bless us!

I do hope that the government can do something to help us get through this ordeal. If they can't do anything to stop prices from increasing, at least they should help us cope with all these by providing more jobs or increasing the salaries and wages of people.

I was shocked to see that the regular diesel now cost more than 42 php... and the tricycle driver asked me for additional 5 php from the regular 20 php that i pay... is there no stop to this price increase...
It is high time for our government or all governments to get serious about that alternative fuel study... or the development of biodiesel... we are so oil dependent that it is slowly killing us...

Why are they raising the price when they are getting record profits? Food is also raising every time I go to the store. I read on the internet not to buy from companies that buy foreign oil. Shell does, don't remember the others. The funny thing is oil and food are up. Some things like lumber is down. Some things remain the same. This is weird, I've never seen that happen before. Everything either goes down or up, usually up. I hope we're not headed for another depression.

We can't do that here in the Philippines as we do not have local sources of oil. We import oil from other countries.
It's really sad that prices are up and a lot of people can't really cope with it.

It is not only oil that is increasing in price. Almost all commodities are increasing in price. But it is happening worldwide.

not only price hike we encounter soon but many things will happen beyond our expectations. one of them the continues increase of rice price. it's difficult to individual who earn less in a day and the price is higher. how can they sustain their daily living? this could be our next problem soon.

It really annoys me not just because of these oil price hikes, but what really strikes me most is that this rich people are making billions while their consumers are having a hard time paying for every single liter. On a news program i heard that oil-exporting Arab countries are really making big big money on these sky rocketing prices.I don't really understand why they need raise the prices.
