I think a lot of promoters could fill the blood banks of this country if they had a ticket exchange for donated blood. Once I did donate I found out my blood type and that I have good cholestrol. Some places will give you gift certificates to eat out at some of your favorite restaurants if you donate at lest 3 times a year.

I'm quite happy to donate without payment or anything like that - we are doing a service for other people, and if I or any of my loved ones, end up in the hospital and in need of a blood transfusion, it will be because of other donors that we will be able to have one - I am happy to be able to provide that for someone else somewhere in the world=)
Our local donor centre also provides us with a drink and some food if we would like some after giving blood, so that we keep our energy and blood sugar up=)

I would if a family member needed it,but short of that,I
probably wouldn't. I had open heart surgery when I was young and think I got a lifetime of giving blood then. I know it's a good thing to do,but not fun.
