1. bjcyrix (2783) | 2 years ago | Hi! I have a dream laptop too and I guess it will stay that way. I want a small one, small enough to fit in my bag but big enough that my fingers can move freely in the keyboard. I want it to have a huge memory so that I can install all the software that I need and still be able to install all of the games that I want. It also needs to have a really long battery life so I can carry it anywhere without having to worry about the battery every few hours. The description above is still a bit realistically. My dream gadget is actually a sort of transformer model. It has the funtions a laptop with internet connection, can be used as a cellphone, can also be used as a good point and shoot video camera and digital camera, and last but not the least it should have the function of a video game console like maybe a gameboy or a playstation. Now thats my dream gadget!^_^ I guess I wont live long enough to see that happen.
Anyways, the most close enough model out in the market today is the smallest Sony Vaio. I forgot the model name but its sort of a handheld laptop with a sliding screen that reveals a keyboard.

nenyalorien (182) | 2 years ago | small to fit in bag but big enough for fingers on keyboard: check for macbook air, macbook
huge hard drive (storage memory) and RAM (operations memory, speed depends on this): check for macbook; macbook air is max at 2GB RAM, 60/80GB Hard Drive storage space
really long battery life: Macbook Air clocks in at 4 hours 16 minutes in web browsing + mp3 playback, 3 hours and 25 minutes on DVD playback, and 2 hours and 26 minutes doing XviD playback, web browsing and heavy downloading.
Here are the top laptops in terms of battery life, according to CNET Australia:
Sony Vaio VGN-TX27GP Samsung Q30 Lenovo Thinkpad R60 Acer TravelMate 3010 Dell XPS M1210
I think the Dell XPS M1210 as a rather huge hard drive space and is small too. CNet's editors think that this is rather bulky, however.
Laptop with internet connection: most laptops nowadays are on Wifi.
Used as a cellphone: Through Skype, GizmoProject and other Soft Phone/VoIP software, you could call and text people. Through chikka.com you can text people too.
Digi/Video cam: it's a staple in most laptops nowadays to have a webcam. The best for me is the one on eeePC: because you can turn it to face the subject in front of you/behind your laptop's monitor. the eeePC 900 series has a 1.3 Megapixel camera.. the eeePC 900 only has 14GB of hard drive for Windows, 20GB hard drive for Linux, however. and the keyboard is too small, in my opinion. heheh.
So far, I think only the Macbook Air has everything you want, except for the large hard drive storage:
-Small enough for manila envelope, full-sized keyboard -hard drive space: 60GB/80GB: so-so in this department -really long battery life: passable I think -internet connection: yep -cellphone: with skype, etc, yep!
Video game console.... Err... get a peripheral???
So, tell me what you think with my "evaluation"?:)

bjcyrix (2783) | 2 years ago | Oh, you're really that much of a geek huh??^_^ Anyways, thanks for the info and you really love Macbook Air taht much too huh? what is it with Mac computers?? Ive seen the Air when it was first released to the world. It is very thin and Im really not that much keen on thin things. Im always afraid that Ill squish them to bits and pieces or somehting. This sentiment also goes to cellphones like the Ultra Edition of Samsung and the thin Moto phones. I really appreciate you're evaluation and its quite detailed. Why havent I met you when Im in the market for a laptop?? Ive got one and its an Acer. Didnt pick it myself just went home to find it on the table. Its the one recommended by my mom's officemate who is in charge of the tech department. Its a travelmate model. Thanks for the info and I hope you get that laptop you want^_^.

I was just researching for another article on ultraportables.:)

| 3. yakuza_azl (59) | 2 years ago | my dream laptop would be the macbook pro or the Hp artistic edition that looks really good. I think features and price wise the hp is better. I cant believe such a good laptop like is at an average laptop price. the artist would designed it is only 20 years old, man he has some imagination.

nenyalorien (182) | 2 years ago | i found several Artist Edition HP Pavillions:
the dv6700t looks so much sleeker and it has the kind of art i really would go for.
the dv2800t looks like street graffiti, and I didn't get to appreciate it much.
though it's really edgy, i think gmask offers a much better way to customize your laptop.
For only around $150, you can have your entire laptop "gmasked."
Gmask is a kind of wrapper/protection with cool designs you can choose from.
Check out: http://www.gmask.com.ph<< I think you better get a Macbook Pro and have it gmasked. Aheheh.:p

4. restlesslimbs (119) | 2 years ago | We dream of the same laptops except I haven't heard of the last one. I love macs because they last forever and they are so cute. I still have my G3 ibook from 2001. It's old and slow compared to newer computers but it still works.
