The other week I bought a hair dye kit from the supermarket that I work in and decided I would dye my hair. I finally got round to doing it today and have gone from a mousy brown colour to a chestnut brown colour. I like this colour as it has a hint of red in it.
I was worried incase it went wrong as I have never dyed my hair before!!
Have you ever dyed your hair?? What are your hair dyeing disasters??

The first time I dyed my hair I was 16. The color was supposed to be "light golden brown" but it came out red! I guess because my hair has natural red highlights the "golden" just turned my hair red. I went to the supermarket and bought this stuff that took the color out of my hair, although it took a couple of those treatments to get it all out.
After that experience I did put some highlights in my hair but now it has all grown out and I have learned to really like my natural hair color.

I had highlights in my hair, only blonde and I was brave to have two colours in at one time. i had vblonde and caramel which looked nice but the blonde doesnt stay in long enough because my hair is too dark. I was wanting to go a brown colour but chestnut is nice because of the tint of red.
Thanks for sharing x

LOL I am so glad that you liked the result sweetheart! I have been dying my hair regularly since I was a very young teenager when I started with those mild temporary toners and shaders! lol Since then until about a year ago I have been having my hair dyed professionally as well as doing it myself and have been very lucky never to have had any disasters! I really need to have my hair done again but there is a hairdresser I know who Is willing to come to my house and do it as I can't sit in a salon so I am going to have to get on with it and arrange a time when he can come! xxx

I started dyeing my hair last summer. I had always wanted a burgundy color (The one you see in the picture) but was scared that I would do it wrong and my hair would fall out. When I finally got to courage to do it, it actually came out pretty good. The only mishap I had was when it came time to perm my hair again. When I did, my hair turn a brown color. The same color that it turns in the summer after a lot of sun. It was an okay color, but I missed my burgundy.

I have been dying my hair for the last 17 years or so, I have not got a clue what my original hair colour is. I have been all colours, and at the moment I am currently blonde, although I am trying now to get it a little darker. I think the best disaster I had was when I was dying it blonde a while back and had changed the product I normally used for a different one altogether, when I washed the bleach out I was amazed to see I had blue streaks in it!! Actually it looked quite cool.

Hey I like your avatar!! Its cool!!
I wasnt bought up in the world of dyeing my hair, my mum has never done hers. Ive always wanted a different hair colour but dont like drawing attention to myself so never was brave enough to experiment, hence why Im doing it at 26!! I wanted to be blonde but not a dipsy blonde!!
My twin brother wanted blue hair but never went throug with it!!
I would like to go for a brown colour, see how that looks.
Thanks for your comment x

My hair is the same colour as yours so when I was a teenager I dyed my hair blonde. I was quite good at it but my hair grows really quickly so I didn't keep it for long as doing the roots drove my crazy.
The only other dye I've used is Henna which gives boring mousy brown hair a nice auburn colour, it doesn't last long though and is a bit messy but it doesn't have a lot of nasty chemicals in it.

Don't worry you don't sound offensive. Blonde hair isn't for everyone and I was a bit outlandish in my dress when I was a teenager.

Ive never dyed my hair blonde, would like to but I feel that it would be too much off a change and Im not one of these people that likes to draw attention by being noticeable!! (dont mean to sound offending, I prefer to sit quietly in the corner)
It was a fun experience, one that I will try again!!
Thanks for you comment x

Cool, I want to see! I stupidly tried to lighten my black hair and it went a gingery brown. I'm gonna leave my hair dyeing experiments until I go grey...lol
