Personal Loan Officer annoyance.........

I am rather annoyed. We have been with the same bank for a number of years and have had pretty good service. My husband went in last week to try to get a line of credit (we figured that this would be better than a loan). The officer was suppose to call him about approval and never did. He called her 3 times on Friday and could never get a hold of her. He ended up speaking with someone else at the bank that could only say that it was denied because of something on his credit report, but he could still get the loan and if he wanted details that he would have to talk to the loan officer about it. Of course he wants to know why he was denied since his credit score is over 700 and there are no dings on his report. Since Friday afternoon, he has tried to call this lady 8 more times. She is either on the phone, not there, at lunch…he has left several messages and she hasn’t called him back. Now I am sure she is busy, but come on! She even has his email address. Is this normal behavior for people who work at a bank?

It sounds strange to me. I don't think that is normal behavior for someone who works at a bank, no. Are there any other loan officers that he could speak to about the loan since she obviously does not want to bother with him?

At that location she is the only person that he could talk to. Something that I didn't think of until now, I wonder if he calls the bank hot line if those loan officers can check his loan status.

That is not normal for a bank loan officer. I would go down to the bank personally and demand to talk to her! Walk right up to her office and you could see if she is busy or not, or if their is another loan officer at the bank talk to that person with a credit score of 700 and no negatives the only other reason you would get denied is if your debt to income is to high.

We knew there may be a chance he would be denied for that reason, but believe it or not, when she took down his information she said that was okay. Honestly we are quite shocked that he was not approved for the reason the other person he spoke with gave.

I understand totally what you're going through. We were trying to get a mortgage loan. We had this company preapprove aloan for us. She requested alot of documents. She told us she found some things on our credit report that needed to be took care of and she could get approval for the loan. We took care of these things just to be denied after a month of doing as she asked. At one point she told us to look at another house that didn't require a certain loan. We did so and I liked the second house more than the first. It is so depressing. Our denial is do to the companies not updating their info.on our credit reports. So now we have to pay someone to investigate the negative things on the credit reports. I feel its so hard for an honest person to get ahead in life.
