we are moving to a bigger house soon, and everyone in my family wants to get a dog too. So we can take it out for a walk etc etc that's different from a cat. But I am thinking that most be really hard for a cat and a dog to get along?
I have heard many people that have both cat and dogs, but most of them grow up togheter so that's a different story...

Hi!!
A adult dog will find it diffult to adjust itself with kittens,so,you will have to bring a puppy first, and you will have to trained it,so that it will not hurt the kittens, instead it will treat the kitten as its family, and hence accustomed itself to the enviornment.

It's not always true that cats and dogs don't get along unless raised together. My friend has an older dog and just got kittens and all get along fine. As with getting any new pet, they just need time to get used to each other.
I would suggest getting a puppy though, or a smaller dog. A large dog who is not familiar with cats could hurt it.
If you plan to get a large adult dog, do some background research to see if he is familiar and friendly with cats.
