Ok I need some advice. I love to take pictures but the digital camera I have is a piece of junk. It was great at the time we bought it but it's very very outdated now. I want a good digital camera. Something that is close to professional and takes high quality pictures but that I don't have to have a degree in brain surgery to run. I need something relatively simple to use and not extremely expensive that is going to take nice pictures. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I'll make a list and do searches on the advice you all give to determine which one is best for me.
So, what digital camera should I be considering or saving for?

I can only give you advice on the one that I have, but maybe it will be helpful. It was very inexpensive and I have had it for 4 years.
It is a Fuji FinePix A330 Digital Camera with 3.2 Mega Pixels. I can hook it up to my tv or computer and give a slide show. The card I am on now is only my 2nd card in the 4 years, so it seems to be easy on those too.

it's a BIIIIIIIIIG step under the DSLR, but, i agree with you, it's a good camera. All those who wanna see what finepix s700(in the us, in other parts of the world is s5700) can do, visit my blog: http://emtee-photo.blogspot.com. All the pictures there are taken with a s700.
Take care!

i suggest that you should try a sony cybershot or canon. i have a pentax 8 megapixel digital and so far the quality is really good since pentax was one of the trusted and quality brand when it comes to cameras

Well, I'm far from an expert on digital cameras, but I actually just started a discussion to tell people about the camera I'm planning on buying. Its the Kodak EasyShare 12.1 Megapixel Model Z1285. It runs $199 and has HD resolution, takes videos, 5X opitical 5X digital zoom and more. I have the 8 megapixel model that I bought a little over a year ago and it's great.
