Breaking up

honestly. Don't make them feel bad (telling them why it's their fault), but tell them the truth. You need to have the courage to do what's right for you. Lying gives false hope, from someone who trusts and needs to hear nothing but the truth from your lips...

Sometimes you'll realize they were feeling the same things, and you might actually stay friends...

Just say that ur really busy and will not have much time to spend with him. Besides you have different goals and interests so you don't see a future together.

Face to face is definitely the best way. Remaining friends, too, is a great idea. If they are the type of person who would fly off in private but not in public, take them to their favorite restaurant.

Face to face and honestly....I really dont care for ppl who break up with their bf/gf by way of texting or emails etc..even over the phone (though not as bad) sucks IMO

it depends on the situation really. if said person has done something horrible.. theyre cut off at the knees quick and set curbside before they can blink. if its just simply because the relationship isnt going anywhere and just needs to end.. more tact is necessary to not hurt feelings. honesty however, is always the best course of action in either route. ive known some people that will do things purposefully to hurt the other to try to upset them to get them to do the breaking up because they are too cowardly to do it themselves and dont wanna be the "bad buy", and thats just not the way to go about it.

Since I am a chicken and don't like confrontations..I would email them or leave a message on their answering machine while they are gone. I would put the blame on myself saying that they didn't do anything wrong...no attacking them....no cutting them down....juse saying I was not longer able to be in a relationship with them.

The worst way is to text them or tell them on the phone. Just tell them person to person and tell the person why and explain that it's not their fault and you just want to move on.

Do it face to face and just be honest. Yes, it will hurt but all break-ups are like that. We just deal with the pain and move on.

I'd rather have broken up with my 2nd ex face to face and trash out all the issues we had than over the phone. Yes, I am one of those people who resorted to tech to do the job (not SMS that is). I just couldn't wait another six months for him to get back to Malaysia and then break up. Six months of non-stop quarrelling and being semi-attached to someone who doesn't bother communicating or keeping in touch with his girlfriend.

In essence, I was better off single and I really HAD to break it.

Mmmm the best way to do it? There is no easy way and thats for sure. I can say what not to do.... Dont pitch up with another guy or girl and say hi babes, this is my other girlfriend. Secondly never cheat rather break up before. Dont text the person to break up with them. Be honest and dont say stupid stuff like its not you its me. That would make me bite a hole in the wall. Do it nicely. Keep the conversation simple without blaming each other. Don't take the cowards way out.Be fair and let them know straight up!
